'Shit--!'
Ryder felt the cold metal of the knife cut against his fingers--however, it luckily didn't end up being too deep. He tested flexing the fingers of his free hand as he let the bat hang in only one hand for a moment, and saw that the slash was actually pretty shallow--blood droplets bubbled up out of the slash and it hurt like hell, but he could still move his hands. Counting his blessings that the knife hadn't hit anywhere vital, he looked back at Kraven. He could still do this. But first--he had to get rid of that knife.
"Like I said before, I don't CARE what you are!" Ryder gripped the bat with both hands, small droplets of blood dripping to the floor. He was going to have to end this before his hands took any more damage than they already had. It was time to change tactics. He took a step or two back, taking a deep breath before charging at Kraven again, switching from power strokes to a flurry of fast, though not as strong, strokes of the bat, now aiming mostly for Kraven's upper body in hopes of smacking the knife out of his hand--or at the very least hitting his arms.

Kraven grinned at Ryder as he saw the blood drop to the floor, like a shark it only served to increase his blood fury "AH! BUT YOU SHOULD!" he replied as Ryder was starting to back away. Kraven could tell that Ryder was preparing himself for another attack "Tell me boy... why protect this girl? You could have left her for dead, but now you're just gonna go ahead and get yourself killed because you feel the need to protect her! You're in No Man's Land kid, it's kill or be killed here!" he roared at Ryder as his opponent charged him. As Ryder hit Kraven repeatedly with his bat, Kraven slashed at Ryder's sides, Kraven seemed to be taking each hit very well, until one of Ryder's blows coincidentally hit Kraven on his gunshot wound on the arm. Kraven let out a growl of pain and fell on his knees, holding onto his arm after the strike, his knife falling to the ground. Kraven grunted some more in pain as he was on his knees in front of Ryder. The nun looked up at Ryder a grimace on his face, it seemed Ryder had got him, check mate. Then Kraven drew a handgun, and pointed it at Ryder "GUN, BITCH!!"

Ryder didn't answer Kraven's taunts, having kept up his onslaught even as he felt the knife slice into his sides, blood soaking his ivory white clothes with crimson. Normally, the pain of those injuries would have been quite obvious--but at the moment, adrenaline was overriding everything. It was the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded--he wasn't going to stop--!
As Kraven fell to his knees, Ryder prepared a final blow with the bat held at the ready to strike again, seeing a small glimmer of hope--which was quickly extinguished as soon as the gun came out. It was point blank. He couldn't dodge that. If he didn't do anything--Kraven would shoot. If he ran--Kraven would shoot. The only thing he could do was attack--he couldn't give up. That was the same as losing.
He brought the bat down at Kraven, hoping, praying that he'd be faster than the nun's trigger finger--and the chances of that were pretty much nil--but he had to try. Whether he hit the nun, or the gun, he didn't care, he just wanted to hit something and keep himself from getting shot somewhere vital...!

Kraven slowly pressed down on the finger as he saw Ryder prepare for a final blow, his speed intensified when the bat actually came down on him. It was a competition, whether Ryder's bat or Kraven's trigger finger was faster. Both the bat came down and Kraven pressed down the trigger, but Kraven was a second off, and the bat came down upon his gun, causing the gun to shoot at Ryder's left foot, then causing the gun to fly out of Kraven's hand. Kraven could not think straight, he didn't think to grab another weapon from his walking armory. Instead Kraven took the time to roll to the side and back up into a wall.

As the bullet collided into his left foot, Ryder jolted, collapsing to one knee, the bat nearly flying out of his hand. Luckily, he managed to keep a hold on it. He could feel the pain in his foot--it felt searing hot and agonizing, but if one looked at his face as he looked over at Kraven's retreat, it almost looked as if he didn't feel it at all.
"Get back here..." Ryder said, his voice strained by the pain from his wounds as he dragged himself across the floor over towards Kraven, a cold determination in his eyes, bat still held tightly in his hand. While he was on his way over, he took the time to hit the gun with the tip of the bat, sending it skittering to the other side of the room. "Don't run away...we're not done here yet...!" He struggled closer and closer to Kraven, finally getting close enough where he settled on his knees, raising his bat and bringing it down at the nun--though the power behind his swing was impaired at the moment, since he had to concentrate on not caving to the pain from his wounds as well as moving around and attacking.

Kraven grimaced at Ryder as his opponent slowly closed in on him "You... fucker..." he muttered, Kraven was at the end of his ropes, and as Ryder lifted his bat, Kraven had to think fast. As the strike was brought down upon Kraven, he blocked it with the arm that Lily shot. This caused the arm to completely dislocate "ARGH!!!" Kraven punched at Ryder towards the face "I DON'T NEED A WEAPON TO KILL YOU!!!" he yelled viciously like an animal, he was planning to tackle Ryder right after his punch.

Ryder's feeling of accomplishment as the bat actually made contact disappeared at the moment that Kraven's fist connected with his face. In his weakened state, he toppled over onto his back, blood dripping from his nose. He quickly grabbed his bat with both hands, expecting Kraven to try to yank it away from him. He was practically seeing stars from that punch, and as he was trying to recover, he kicked at Kraven with his good foot--the right one--in a feeble attempt to ward him off while he tried to get his wits about himself again.

Kraven was about to charge Ryder and tackle him "It's over boy!" then as Kraven ran at the man he was kicked back into the wall he was in earlier. Kraven's back impacted against the wall, causing the large man to slide down to the floor. Leaned against the wall, Kraven, slowly, reached into his armor. He pulled a single grenade out, he was right next to Ryder, this entire church was just a small space. Kraven smiled maniacally at Ryder "Guess what Father Death has got?" the nun spoke in a raspy voice. Kraven's grip on the grenade tightened as he was about to pull the pin.

Ryder heaved himself up off his back, and managed to squirm back into a kneeling position just in time to freeze at the sight of Kraven's grenade. His heart was pounding fast, and he could feel himself getting dizzy from blood loss.
"Ya know..." he replied, his voice equally as strained as he raised his bat once more. "You've got too damn many of those things." Time to tee off. Once again, he found himself in a race against Kraven's reflexes as he swung the bat with a sudden renewed vigor out of simple self-preservation right at the grenade, intending to smack it away before the pin could be pulled. Images of himself as a child, using a small wooden bat to hit baseballs off a tee back home in the grassy baseball diamond were coming back to him in a haze...this was no different...was it? Just...that death was a factor. Yeah.
Couldn't be much more intense than overbearing Little League coaches.

Father Death continued to laugh like a maniac as Ryder fought for his life, at this point it seemed like Kraven just didn't care about his life anymore "HAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHA NOT THIS TIME!" he mocked Ryder in a hysterical fit. And this time, Ryder was too late, Kraven pulled the pin before it could happen, and Kraven watched at the grenade was hit away and launched about the two "HAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHA! AHAHAHAAHAH!" then the grenade fell to their feet. It didn't seem to go off, then suddenly it made a noise, then smoke started to burst from it, no, a gas. It was a gas grenade, in a matter of seconds the entire church was filled with gas. It was impossible to see in the entire church, of course, Kraven lived here, so he had a big advantage "You underestimate my cleverness sometimes child!" echoed behind Ryder, suddenly a knife was thrown towards Ryder's chest, it was literally flung towards him, followed by footsteps away from him.

Ryder never thought he'd find himself stuck kneeling on the floor of a church--and yet, here he was, unable to see anything around him as the gas billowed up around him. Still better than an explosion, he figured...He wasn't dead yet...
And that was when he saw the glint through the smog, and moved just enough so that the knife embedded itself into his shoulder rather than his heart. He lurched backwards as the knife hit him, nearly losing his balance. For a few slow seconds, he sat there, feeling the warmth of blood soaking him and his clothes, feeling his consciousness rolling about as his body struggled to retain the blood that he kept losing. He couldn't take much more of this...
"What a cheap run..." he murmured at the fact that Kraven had used gas as a cover. He was at a serious disadvantage here. He had to find some sort of cover. He struggled blindly through the fog, up until he bumped into something--it was the altar. He moved around to the back of it, leaning up against the cold stone. He had hardly realized that he was already trembling--not from fear--but probably from the loss of blood. He took a quiet, shaking breath, securing both of his hands onto his bat, ready to smack the living shit out of anything that came close...that is, if he could stay conscious long enough to do so...

Suddenly the church grew silent, now even whimper, and Ryder could only hear himself. The wind started to blow, and the feint sounds of a rat could be heard, from the silence of the church came the sounds of nature, yet there was not a single word from Kraven. Not even his footsteps were heard, which was odd, because now was around the time he'd be yelling like a maniac. Yet the church was silence, until suddenly a beep was heard, and another, and another. When the dust cleared, there it was, a bomb, right in plain sight, with a time for thirty seconds. Kraven was nowhere to be seen, he had the bomb hidden until now, and chose to use it so he wouldn't be followed. It was probable that Kraven had jumped out of a crevice in the church at one point.

Ryder looked around the side of the altar and stared at the bomb for all of two seconds.
"Fucking...nun...!" he managed to curse, dragging his way over to Ivy and grabbing her arm, bringing her over to one of the lower windows despite any protests that she might have. He got up on his knees high enough to smash through the glass with his bat.
Twenty seconds.
He continued clearing out the glass, up until it was clear to go through, then pushed Ivy through, even if she didn't want to go, since it was kind of Kraven's house and all.
Fifteen seconds.
He first put his bat through the window, then painstakingly pulled himself up, over the sill, and out, cursing quietly under his breath for every move he made, especially as the knife that was still in his shoulder got jostled on the way over.
Ten seconds.
His only goal was to get himself and Ivy as far away from that building as he could. Lily could take care of herself. Literally dragging himself along the ground and coaxing Ivy along, they just barely managed to clear the explosion as it rocked the church. Ryder fell down onto his back, his vision blurring. It was over...and yet he still hadn't managed to take down the nun. Ah well...at least he was alive...
"Ivy..." his voice was quiet, with how weak he was from losing so much blood. "Go get someone from the bunker...fast..."
And with that, his consciousness slipped away from him, and he lay there, out cold in a small pool of his own blood.

Lily Hadn't been able to get a clean shot the whole time. She ran over to Ivy and Ryder, assessing his wounds. She quickly picked him up. "Ivy, can you move? We have to go now."

Ivy drifted in and out of consciousness during the battle, watching as intently as she could while she was awake, drumming her fingers nervously and randomly shouting out things like

"Come on Ryder! Explode the possessed Apocalypse!"

Though her voice was barely audible. When the smoke came, she just sort of smiled and passed out, but when she heard Ryder and felt him trying to move her, she woke up and nodded, trying to help as much as she could, but walking was difficult since Kraven has stabbed her knee then shot her foot...

"I...but...Apocalypse...why would he do that...?"

She whispered as she helped drag herself out of the church, then looked at Ryder as he passed out, looking much more alert as she noticed how hurt he was. She looked up at Lily and nodded.

"I can move...but my leg...I need help walking. I mean, I'd normally get Hank to help me, but he's back in the bunker..."

She explained, talking about her favorite plant and seeming convinced that the plant could have helped them.

"We need to help Ryder....he likes explosions, he shouldn't get hurt by them..."

Struggling to her feet, Ivy tried to help Lily pick Ryder up. Luckily, Ivy was completely insane, so she didn't notice the pain from the injuries as much as she would have had she been her sane self, which she had shown in the previous battle. She was limping a lot, but she helped carry Ryder to the base.

Dorthy and Catherine came to the Chruch, one of the many places in NML that she never been too. She looked around the church, it was dark, hard to see, but it was kind of pretty... Except for the blood stains on there. THAT was not pretty... That was scary... "Is this a Church?" Dorthy asked and her mother nodded as they walked down, in between the pews. She sat down and yawned... She was tired... "I don't think I can run anymore mom... I can't..." Dorthy said as she was led to a place where she could hide, in a little doorway where the organ was. She wondered if her mother would be with her, but she didn't come in.

"I want my Dolly... I want my dolly... I want my, my... DOLLY!

It was so quiet in the church, it was almost chilling. It had been long abandoned, and they didn't know it, but this church had once been Kraven's. Since the Deathworshippers are now really only Kraven and Cathy, Kraven never thought it necessary to use this building anymore. And since then it's been abandoned. Kraven suddenly tapped Cathy on the shoulder, a scary grimace on his face "I'm here." he said bluntly. Then, he smiled to the two of them, albeit he still seemed pretty creepy "I finally found you two! I was running through the entire city!"

Dorthy looked up when she saw Kraven. "Kraven! It's you!" she said, surprised to see the man here. "The scary man! He's still after us!" Dorthy said as she looked around. "Will we be safe in here? And why is he after me? Is it because of my dad?" Dorthy asked, worried that she was being used as some barginning chip or something. She refused to be her dad's weakness!

Catherine beamed as Kraven appeared, his creepiness was a welcome sight after all the running.

"Father~!"

She hugged him, Dorthy still in her arms so she was stuck in the middle of a hug again.

"We were running from that Don guy...but you're here now, he won't get Dorthy, right? Right. It's okay sweetheart.."

She said reassuringly to Dorthy.

Kraven grinned as Cathy came to hug him, leaving Dorthy in between the two. But then Kraven shook his head to Dorthy, that didn't bode well "No... I'm afraid you two haven't lost him.. he'll track you to the ends of the earth. Once more... Dorthy, you aren't strong enough to even put a mark on him... and I fear that even I cannot beat him... or even come close to that..." he told Dorthy. There only real choice was to run, at least until they found the right place. Kraven suddenly pulled a rocket launcher from his coat, just like the good old days. It always amazed people how Kraven just magically hoarded weapons under his clothes. Kraven smiled to the two of them "I have a good idea of where to go... but you're going to need to trust me... are you both ready to leave...?" he asked, a smile on his face "I'll lead the way..."

I go way back with them... you could say they are old friends..." he muttered to them, eternally serious in his words. he began to walk, still holding the two in his arms while the rocket launcher was hung around his shoulder "I believe that in these allies we will be able to turn the tables on The Don... more importantly... I must think of a way to respectfully ask their help..." Kraven pondered his own actions for a moment "Yes... and I will need to make a good first impression too. To know that I'm on their side... yes." he then started to walk again "ALRIGHT! We're leaving!"

Mocha dragged Kraven's muscular ass to the Church before collasping herself on a pew. She panted and looked down at Kraven. "Your a fat ass... Muscular beef cake..." Mocha said as the Ostrich began poking at random stuff, and doing that stupid dead eyed bird look. Mocha injuries bled through and she looked around for a med kit. "Kraven... Where do you keep your medkits... Never mind. Odds are you don't have anything..." Mocha said with deep breaths.

"Your all just a bunch of dolls being played with until your creator of the world beyond grows tired of you. You may not know it, but you have lived many lives either before, or were just born. Sure they say you've been around for said X years, but Mocha... Mocha knows the truth. You were just to life only 7 minutes ago so... Happy Birthday."
