Ryder listened carefully to Jo's explanation of strategy as they headed down the hallway, and he nodded quickly.
"So, basically, we hold him off until Chelsea can screw his systems up, then see if things get a bit easier?"
It was...strange. Ryder had never felt particularly frightened when they had gone into battle before...but this time, he felt a strange tightness in his chest that could only be described as fear. Fear, not for himself--but for Jo. He knew that her major arsenal was guns and hand to hand--both of which were fairly useless against a giant cyborg with forcefields. Just seeing her take out her combat knife made his heart skip a beat in worry--he didn't know how they were going to do this. How do you fight a robot...? Well...Jo had done it before, so they could figure it out a second time! Still...another thought crossed his mind. The Inquisitor had a personal vendetta for Jo--and now, Jo was running right along the hallway that led straight to him. Ryder suddenly realized--as soon as The Inquisitor saw Jo, he was going to be attacking her, all out. That man wanted to kill Jo--and Ryder knew that. So, he decided--he was going to protect Jo with everything he had in this battle. Especially after how they had bonded with each other...he wasn't going to let Jo out of his sight.

David looked down on the weakened Bunny, not a glimpse of pity nor enjoyment on his almost featureless mechanic face "How primitive..." he mocked the woman, and as she dropped the EMP, the man merely stood there. It went off, but the man did not stop "I now have THE MOST ADVANCED CYBERNETICS IN THE WORLD! Didn't you think I'd have them outfitted to provide protection against those things!? Dimwit!" he yelled to the woman, before using telepathy to pick up a heap of wreckage and throw it towards Bunny "HAHAHAHA!" the man really was enjoying himself. And then he heard a familiar yell from a man calling him master "Oh that would be Aku..." the man thought before turning to the vampire. He used his telepathy to hold Akuryo in the air, slowly lifting him up higher "HAHAHAHAH! And what would you be doing here!? No matter... I'll come up with something nice and painful for you...!" David then used his telepathy on Akuryo's own blood, slowly ripping him apart from the inside. David began to slowly clench his hand, indicating his grip on Akuryo strengthening. However, before David could finish the job, he was hit from behind from a clump of explosives "ASSHOLE!" The Inquisitor heard from behind him. Without focus, Akuryo was dropped back down to the ground. It was Elliot, he had thrown a barrage of explosives at David. But at a closer look, even these high powered explosives hadn't done any real damage, they just left a black stain on the machine's back. David slowly turned to Elliot "Oh... you dare stand before a god like me!?" his thoughts echoed through the room. Elliot simply responded by giving David the finger, and then tossing another barrage of explosives at the cyborg. Every explosive came to a stop in front of David "Ha! What simple minded nonsense is-!" the explosives then exploded in David's face, sending the cyborg flying into a fall. Elliot cracked his knuckles as he slowly approached the cyborg "All the technology in the world at your finger tips and you can't even stop a good explosion... amazing." the man muttered, before the man suddenly came to a stop "Ugh...-!" Elliot was slowly lifted into the air. David, on a knee and recovering from the explosion, lifted his hand out to Elliot, before he sent Elliot flying into burning wreckage then picking up more wreckage and smashing it against the wreckage Elliot had been thrown into "Where were we again...?" the man thought. He turned to Akuryo, staring right at him "Right... YOU."

Akuryo was forced into more pain, his skin having been filleted by his own blood being used, but that didn't stop his adrenaline, his arms being coated in blood now as he was kept in the air. Soon, he was dropped to the ground on his feet, trying to catch a break as Elliot was going all Bomb Rambo on David, knocking him down some. But when Elliot was thrown to the side into some flaming wreckage, and then had more slammed onto him, he figured it'd be his turn. Akuryo kept a tight grip of his knives as David turned to him, but in that moment, he threw both of his knives out at him. Having seen his psychic powers first hand now, he had a small idea of how to take care of him. If the twin knives were caught, he'd charge in for a quick feint attack to get past his knives incase he threw them at him.

"Yeah, basically. We`ll just stall him head-on. We should be fine, Bunny and Elliot should be around here somewhere... C-Crap, have you seen Arma and Pugsy?"
She said anxiously, the thought of not having enough manpower to take on this enhanced machine banging against the walls of her mind. She could hear the Inquisitor`s voice in her mind -- 'Aku'? Jo stopped in her tracks for a moment, hearing Elliot`s voice echo through the hallways, followed by a loud crash. She could feel her entire being sink, except for her heart, which palpitated loudly in her throat to remind her of the situation she was in. "Elliot..!" She said in a low whisper, accelerating her speed into a sprint. She was petrified; not for herself, but for everyone else. Would they be enough to take him on? What if he ripped through them in a moment`s time and made his way to Chelsea? Her mind only supplied her with the worst possible situations, as her body began to feel the weight of the Inquisitor`s psychic abilities only feet away from her, weighing in on her brain to supply her with a subtle throbbing pain. She suddenly skidded to a halt, the world seeming to stop for a moment as well as she laid eye upon the new and improved Mastermind. She had a moment to assess the situation - Akuryo on the ground, his former boss staring down at him with red, unfeeling cybernetic eyes that still craved his bitter demise, and wreckage upon wreckage upon wreckage surrounding them. She didn`t know what Akuryo was doing here; she knew the man had betrayed Vulture Team several times, betrayed her more then that, but the sight of her former ally being threatened made her sick to her stomach. She hurriedly raised her tommy gun, firing at the metallic ceiling and halls around them, all her bullets ricocheting around the entrance and heading straight towards the Inquisitor as Akuryo`s knives headed for him as well. "Degenerate pile of scrap metal...! Get the hell out of my base!!"

David shook his head to his former minion "Such a waste of talent..." the man commented "Your talent for bloodshed could have been netter used... but instead you waste it all like a spoiled child!" the man's thoughts echoed through the base. When Akuryo tossed his knives towards David, he naturally stopped them with his telepathy "Just what are you planning...? You know that isn't gonna work!" he called out to his enemy before Jo burst into the scene guns blazing. The shots aimed towards him were all stopped mid air as well "That is... disappointing..." the man thought quietly. This was the woman who was such a threat to him mere months ago!? She was nothing now! But a mere ant to his god-like power! David moved the bullets and knives in the air, slowly turning them towards Jo and Akuryo "You know what they say... YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!" he taunted them as the bullets and knives shot out to the two of them.

"I shall do that Kat! I will stay near Chelsea and guard her from the inside! Luck to you..." Emilia said as she waited, anxious of the Inquisitor coming in at any moment. From what it sounded out there, things were going poorly. She couldn't hear much, but there was someone who was betraying the man. She wondered who in the world could that have been. "Anywhere close Chelsea?" Emilia asked, her eyes not leaving the door and her lance ready to shoot out electricity.

"Justice, Peace, and Love must be protected! And I will stop at nothing to protect Law and ORDER! FOR JUSTICE! TO ARMS!"

Akuryo was still in his feint state as Jo came in shooting, all of the bullets getting caught as he jumped towards him to force him into the ground, aiming to stab through one of his ocular vision eyes. The moment he turned the knives and bullets against them, Akuryo never felt a rush quite like this as his own knives stabbed him through the shoulders and the shoulder blades. The bullets grazing his body due to the random disbursement, some even hitting his bullet proof vest, and even a few being capable of going through. He was already a bloody mess, so it'd be hard to tell which wound started from where as he was still attempting the stab, albeit being in a dying state now as his vision was beginning to get blurry.

Ryder heard the sounds from the battle as well, and could practically feel the pressure being exerted off of The Inquisitor as the man used his psychic powers. The sounds from the battle were practically deafening...
Jo raced ahead of him suddenly, and he quickly did his best to catch up to her. He could hear her tommy gun going off, and he only got into the area just in time to see the metallic man rotating the knives and bullets through the air. He didn't stop running--instead, he used his momentum to keep going forward, and grabbed Jo's arm, pulling her out of the way of the destructive bullets, then coming to a stop after he had helped Jo evade the attack. He turned, looking at The Inquisitor, his eyes widening slightly. He looked...different. Very different. And last time he had checked, the man didn't have psychic powers, but apparently now, he did. So. Yeah--that was a thing. He stood by Jo protectively, tightening his grip on his bat--but not trying to use it. He really didn't know what they could do here...obviously the bullets wouldn't work, and neither would explosives, in that case...and attacking head on would be too difficult...He didn't say a word--simply watched the Inquisitor carefully, watching for the man's next move. He didn't want to say anything to provoke the man--The Inquisitor was far from being the joke that he had once been. He was genuinely dangerous now.

"I'm still working on it..." Chelsea was still typing away, her fingers clicking on the keys sounding a lot like the gunfire from a machine gun, she was going so fast. "He's got some really advanced security up that's keeping me from getting a lock on him...I can do it, but it'll take me a moment to get it...oh, I hope that I can do this fast enough..." She was terrified--because she knew that with every moment that passed, more and more of her allies were getting hurt--this enemy was extremely powerful, and just thinking about her friends going into battle against him made her sick to her stomach. She was using every program that she had at her disposal, trying her best to break through the security and get a lock on The Inquisitor's signal.

Akuryo jumped towards The Inquisitor, but rather than forcing the machine to the ground, Akuryo merely stayed up floating, hanging on David. As the knife was stabbed towards his eye, it hit his eye, but didn't seem to be doing any damage other than a scratch "Was it really worth it fool!? These aren't friends you're protecting! They will kill you the second you turn your back on them! You are forsaken by all of humanity! KNOW YOUR PLACE!!!" the man yelled to Akuryo before he started to use his psychic abilities to slowly crush Akuryo "You'll become a bloody mess after this boy! WHAT!? ARE YOU TRYING TO DIE A HERO OR SOMETHING!?"

Akuryo was slowly being crushed now by David, holding onto him as he kept the knife where it was, trying to force it through. "M-More of trying to show someone up than die a hero." He told David, knowing that something, somewhere, some one, was getting ready to take a shot once the opportunity had been shown.

"Get that signal Chel! You got this!" she said. She was afraid of saying anything...too pressuring to her. If she was under pressure, she would do worse, and then it would get bad. She was forced to watch her comrades getting mowed down by this..freak of nature. It was very hard to watch. There screams for echoing...it was terrifying. She couldn't dwell on it, but that thought alone made her cringe.

Jo froze. She`d seen him hold her bullets in mid air and send them helplessly plummeting into the ground. But sending them back? That was different. She found herself immobile, the world becoming deaf for a split second until something suddenly tugged her out of harm`s way. She didn`t question it, only stumbled into the direction it pulled her. Her eye looked up to see Ryder, only smiling at him for a brief moment before her gaze fell on the Inquisitor. Another upgrade. As if last time wasn`t enough. She nearly died. What would make it different this time around? For better or worse?
She begrudgingly tossed her tommy gun away, deciding the long arm was rendered useless in this situation due to it`s length and the weight it added to her person. With a gentle huff, she looked down at her combat knife. It worked out pretty okay last time. She quickly looked over the Inquisitor for some weak points similar to the orbs she noticed the previous time, but no such thing popped out to her. There was his brain, but there was no situation she could conceive that would warrant her getting close to it. Or him, most likely. She looked up as Akuryo jumped at their opponent, her eye widening slightly. He was a bloodied mess! "Idiot! You need to get out of --!" She stopped, watching in momentary awe as the Inquisitor held him in place. As his fist began to clench and Akuryo`s leaking body indicated the crushing sensation, she felt as if she had no time to think. She took the shot since the opportunity had shown itself, dashing at the Inquisitor in a few steps. In the moment she had to consider her actions, she reminded herself that grappling a cyborg twice her size was not very probable. She jabbed her combat knife at him, digging her feet into steel ground to prevent any possible psychic whiplash that might follow. "Akuryo! Just get to the infirmary!"

David continued to crush Akuryo as he clenched his fist "To show me up...? What!? ARE YOU THAT CHILDISH!?" David clenched fist tighter and tighter, until it was fully closed, you could hear bones cracking and organs popping slowly. Then Jo came at David with a knife, the machine hadn't even notice her after what he was doing to Akuryo. She had gotten close, but as soon as she got close enough the blade of the knife bent and twisted until it was just a heap of metal "Were you really trying to come at me with A KNIFE!?" the man taunted her before he sent her flying back into a wall. No matter how you tried to deal with this threat, there just seemed to be no way of combating him.

The sound of Akuryo's body cracking and popping resounded throughout the room, making Ryder cringe. And then, Jo was thrown right into a wall--her attack hadn't done anything. Not even a scratch. Ryder examined their enemy quickly, and looked at the man's head--perhaps, if they could get the guy on the ground and stunned, he could smash the dome...But still...nobody had so much as even been able to touch this guy so far. He knew that Chelsea was working on hacking The Inquisitor, but there was only so much Chelsea could do...
"Dammit..." he cursed under his breath, his grip on his bat tight and white-knuckled. "How can we even so much as touch this guy...? Nobody can even get near him...!"
Not turning his back to The Inquisitor, Ryder carefully moved to where Jo had landed against the wall to check on her condition.
"Jo, you alright? We...need a different plan here, I think..."

Chelsea was beginning to worry that maybe she couldn't do this--that maybe it wouldn't work--but then, with a sudden blinking on the screen, she saw--she had gotten a lock on The Inquisitor's signal, after all of that work.
"I got a lock on him!" she exclaimed to Kat and Emilia. "Now I can work on actually hacking into him...!"
She got back to typing, working on beginning to execute her programs into the Inquisitor's cybernetics, trying to hamper the robotic man in battle. At the same time, she was running a program that would hopefully cloak her presence in his cybernetics from him--hopefully so that he wouldn't be able to trace the intrusion.

Ivy ran into Carrion Land as fast as her cybernetic legs could carry her, only to find that there was plenty of destroyed stuff...and an awesome cyborg thing destroying more stuff. She thought he was pretty cool and stuff...until she saw that he was trying to hurt Jo!

"HEY!!!! RUST-FLAVORED MOTHERFUCKER! OVER HERE!"

She shrieked, running at the cyborg and punching at his face with her cybernetically enhanced strength.

"No one hurts my mommy!"

She cried, not caring that Jo had already told Ivy she wasn't her mother; the greenette remembered her as a mother figure, so a mother she would remain.

David tossed Akuryo's body aside "Now... were are you Jo? Come here... kitty, kitty, kitty...!" he whistled, before finding Ryder and Jo "There you are! Oh... and my other favorite victim is here too! GREAT!" David used his telepathy to grab the metal door from earlier, and toss it towards Ryder "Come on! Split in half!" he called out. He was about to grab Ryder and crush the man under his own wait until his cybernetics picked up a hacker. David stopped for but a moment "Oh... heheheheh.... HAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAH! GREAT!" David looked right towards a wall "Did you really think THAT would stop me from finding you!? Silly silly..." David then started crushing the walls in front of him, breaking through six walls until he came upon Chelsea from a wall behind her and her guard "POP GOES THE WEASEL!" he lifted his hand towards her, and her laptop caught fire in her hands. David then grabbed one of the walls with his telepathy, hoisting it over the hacker "AND.... squish." David was about to send the wall crashing down when Ivy came out of nowhere and started to punch at him. The wall ended up flying to the side, crashing into another wall as Ivy's punches sent the machine flying back through more walls.

Kat heard the commtion inside and ran inside, only to see the Inquisitor punched in the face and sent flying.
"Chelsea!" she yelled, going on to her. "Hold on, this place isn't safe!" she picked up Chelsea. "Come on, Emilia, we can't take this guy on. We need to make sure everyone else is okay!" she said, and ran with Chelsea down to the infirmary. She put her on the bed, sighing.
"I'm sorry that didn't work. I'm going to make sure he doesn't hurt you..." she said, panting from the sprint. "I hope Emilia is okay..."

I'll show you what I got! Let's rock!

As the wall behind Chelsea got smashed, she turned around in her chair, looking at the Inquisitor with wide eyes. She had cloaked her signal...how had he tracked her...?! She suddenly felt an intense heat from right behind her, and she turned for a moment, only to see her computer burst into flame.
"N-No--!" she exclaimed, scooting her chair out away from the flame and standing up hurriedly, staring at the computer in horror. All of her hard work! She would have to make all of those programs all over again now! It was all ruined...!
And that was when she saw the large shadow of the piece of rubble cast her over, and she slowly turned, looking up at the wall fragment being held over her, beginning to tremble, her eyes widening and filling with tears as she faced her imminent death--only to have Ivy suddenly burst through the wall, socking the Inquisitor in the face and sending him flying. And at that same time, Kat grabbed Chelsea, pulling her out of the room, and down the hall, into the infirmary. She was set down upon the bed, and she was practically sobbing. That had been probably one of the most terrifying things in her entire life. And now, her laptop was history--she couldn't do anything. She really was just dead weight now. She was just holding everyone back--and she was terrified. She was hugging herself tightly, and she was pale as a sheet.

Ryder's eyes widened as he saw the door flying his way, and all in a moment of sheer panic, he dropped his bat so that he could use both hands to pick up Jo, and all in one movement, dove out of the way of the metallic rubble as it slammed against the wall and fell with a clang. He turned his head, trying to find the Inquisitor--only to see him bashing through walls. And Ivy was following him--apparently she had just arrived. But, as Ryder realized where he was going, he felt his throat go tight in absolute horror--he was heading towards the bedrooms. That was where Chelsea was.
"No, no...!" he said as he carefully put Jo down, then ran over to where the metallic door lay, working at prying his bat out from under it, and finally getting it out after working at it for a moment or two. He went back over to Jo, still worried about her since she hadn't had time to answer him before as to whether she was okay or not.

Jo stared in denial, seeing her combat knife twist into a heap of metal in her hands. "... Huh?" Before she could wrap her head around the moment, she was lunged into a wall, her head making a loud 'thud' noise against it. She slumped onto the ground, immediately feeling her plasma leak from the back of her head, surely onto the back of her white shirt. She groaned, unsuccessful at trying to force herself up, only to catch sight of Akuryo on the ground. She had heard the subtle cracking of his bones; popping of his organs, but she refused to believe he was out. Not after he used the last of his strength defending Vulture Team. "Akuryo...! Get the hell up!!" She called out to him, shuddering as there was no response. He better get up. He wasn`t allowed to show up out of no where, fight with them, then just die. He just wasn`t allowed too..!
She found herself unable to pull back up -- not even the sound of Ryder`s voice snapping her back into harsh reality. She could faintly hear the Inquisitor`s voice in her thoughts. The way he addressed her brought back the memory of another person under his influence -- one who called her a bird free from her cage. Another person she lost to the Mastermind. Jo was suddenly picked up off the ground, her now widened eye revealing to her that this was Ryder`s doing. She heard a few faint crashing sounds, saw the faint sight of green hair flash by her and the word 'mommy' echoing through the air. She couldn`t help but smile a bit. Until she heard Ryder again. He sounded panicked, and rightfully so, considering everything. Jo forced herself onto her feet, staggering slightly as she did. Blood had begun to trail from the wound on her head, pouring down onto her features. She paid this no mind, instead focusing on her aching muscles. "I`m fine, I`m fine! Everything is going to be fine! We -- we just -- uh, we need too --" She honestly had no idea. Could the Inquisitor possibly gotten onto Chelsea`s signal? That wasn`t okay. That wasn`t okay at all. She heard some more crashing, indicating that either Ivy or the Inquisitor was currently smashing through more of her base. "We.. We gotta follow him! Maybe -- do you know how explosives will work?! His head is the only possible weak spot I found, but, I mean, I don`t know..!" She said, her panic becoming more apparent by the second. Jo quickly searched her person for a weapon, or anything that could be used in one`s place -- but found no such thing. That didn`t matter. She was enough. She could take it. She began to rush towards the rooms as her mind hurriedly attempted to devise a plan for them, piecing their sources together. It proved to be a task at the moment, her thoughts instead being plagued by the Inquisitor`s voice intruding it and the ever looming possibilities of the situation at hand. Despite Ivy`s cybernetic enhancements, she didn`t know the full extent of the Inquisitor`s, or who would overpower who. What if something happened to her again..?

Gabriel jumped in surprise as he heard someone barging into the infirmary, promptly turning to look with a borrowed handgun held in his hands. He wasn't sure it would be any real use, but he'd wanted something and that was all he had found there in the infirmary. He frowned however as he caught sight of Chelsea and Kat, wondering what had happened. The poor girl looked traumatized... Walking over quickly, he shot a look towards the door before he gently reached out and squeezed Chelsea's hand. "You'll be okay," he murmured gently, nodding a greeting to Kat while he clutched the gun in his hand. He wasn't sure if this meant the infirmary would be attacked or not- he just knew he would protect those inside as he'd been asked.

"Chel, you gotta snap out of it!" Kat said. "You're safe, and everything will be okay! You have to hold yourself together. Gabe, take Chel and hide somewhere. Hide anywhere, but in a place you will be safe in. If you can, find Bravery too." she turned to the door. "I'm going to go cover Ivy. She might not need it, but if I can take a hit for her, I will." she saluted to the two. "Keep on your toes, stay safe." she said, and ran back, finding Ivy. "I'm here. I know I can't attack...but I can take a hit for you." she said.

"Explosives? I--I don't know, I mean, I have some on me, but I don't know if he could deflect them..." Ryder replied to Jo's question, before the woman took off, and he dashed after her. He felt as if they just couldn't run fast enough. If the Inquisitor killed Chelsea...no. NO. He wasn't going to let that hunk of metal take anyone else from him! Never again!
He looked down at the bat he was holding in his hands--this thing had pulled him through thick and thin before--but he didn't know what it would do against The Inquisitor. And even if he did have his explosives with him...he got the feeling that the Inquisitor would just send them right back at them, like everything else. Still, with both Ivy and Chelsea in danger--and soon Jo in danger, too--Ryder knew that he was going to have to watch his step if he was going to protect all of them. But he wasn't going to let them die! No way in hell!

"I-I...I can't..." Chelsea could feel hot tears pouring from her eyes as she spoke. "I-I can't just leave everyone else to die...! M-My brother is still here, and so is everyone else, and I--...I..." Chelsea felt completely and utterly defeated. The one thing that she could have done to help--well, it hadn't worked one bit, and now her computer was fried, literally, so if they ever needed her skills again, she would need to get a new computer and re-write the countless programs that she had spent so many hours on before. She could still feel the knife resting in the holster at her waist, but she knew that running into battle with just a knife that she barely knew how to use would be suicide. So that wasn't an option. "Wh-Why does this have to be happening...? Why is this happening...?! Why can't...we just live in peace...for once..." She slowly stood up from the bed, wiping her eyes on her sleeves. And to think that she might have been at a picnic right now. The contrast between the two scenarios was unfathomable...and the fact that she might not have known of this chaos going on here was just as terrifying as being involved in it.
