Pugsy smiled to Ivy as she celebrated the notion of pancakes and hugs "Yeah! Pancakes!" he paused for a moment "And hugs!" he sometimes had a habit of losing where he was a for a moment, he almost said steel hugs and pancakes. And then he was punched in the face, and Pugsy didn't even flinch "Huh..." he didn't even notice, he wasn't feeling pain or anything. Pugsy smiled to Ivy, completely oblivious to the fact that he was she had left a mark on his face "It's okay!" he responded to Ivy "I don't feel pain! Nope... and that is why..." he looked to his two arms that he had broken out of the cast to hug Ivy with "That is why... I am hugging you with ... two... broken... arms... oh fuck."

Elliot stood still in front of Emilia, glaring right at her. He had always thought that Emilia was loyal to Jo, he always figured they would fight for some other reason, but he knew it would come down to this. He knew her history with Paladin, and he wasn't going to risk Jo's life "I think we both know I won't move aside..." he said as he pulled some explosives out, holding them in his hands "I want proof that you won't hurt Jo..." he told Emilia, he was completely ready to start a fight right here in Carrionland.

Ryder moved almost without realizing it--he stood, getting up to his feet, then walking over to stand next to Elliot, shielding Jo from Emilia.
"You have to prove first...that you won't hurt her..." Ryder swallowed his insecurities as he spoke. He felt like a child at an adults' party--like his opinion or actions wouldn't matter. But still...he wanted to protect Jo. He stood firm with Elliot.

Ivy freaked out a bit as she realized she punched Pugsy, but... Why didn't he react...?

"Wait... No pain?! Woahhh! That is...wow!"

She didn't even know what to day to that, how was that even possible?! Had he made some sort of deal with the Gumby that gave him these powers of not pain?! Then he showed off his broken arms and her eyes widened again.

"Oh what the fuck?! That! That can't be good! How do I fix that?!"

She sounded a bit desperate as she tried to think of something useful to do so she could help Pugsy.

"Do pancakes fix it?!"

Jo, yet again, jolted as she heard Ryder`s voice. She looked over to him, the smallest smile present on her lips. He said this, even if he didn`t approach her himself after Bunny had thrown him. She hoped he wouldn`t ever leave her. Elliot, who had so gallantly defended her, as well. She loved the pair like they were her own children; although, she`d never admit it out loud. She wiped her tears away again with a quiet sigh. She did this. Bunny was gone, and she wasn`t sure if the redhead would ever come back. She had already forgiven her; she had every right to feel betrayed. She was going to make an attempt to stand up and collect herself. Paladin or not, she was going to lead this faction to victory. Just as she was about to lift herself onto her feet and let everyone know she was okay like she always did, Emilia stepped up. She towered above her her; the woman who had once haunted her nightmares, the boogie man to her and the other Paladin trainees at the time. Jo had instinctively backed away, plagued by the memories of the rumored image she had built of the Valkyur in her head. Yet... she only wanted to talk. She didn`t know what that meant. Before Jo could open her mouth again, Ryder and Elliot stood protectively in front of her.

She watched with widened eyes. Of course, she wanted Emilia to prove that she wouldn`t hurt her. In fact, she was still trembling in fear at the thought. Yet, she trusted Emilia. She trusted her a lot. "G-Guys... It`s okay..." She managed, stifling her sobs for the moment. She wanted to further plead with them, but lacked the capability to do so.

"Don't I know it..." Emilia said to Elliot as she stared back at him, but then it was broken when she looked at Ryder. "Fine... One... I have no weapon to fight with... Two what else do you want me to say. I have a feeling that your never going to let me go near her! That you... That your going to stand in my way no matter what I do!" Emilia began to feel the tears fall down on her face. "You were waiting for this day weren't you Shit Head? That day where you have an excuse to kill me, and have your pigs join in on the fun in hurting Emilia. Well guess what, I can't kill Josephine even if I tried! She has proven to me... That Paladin has some hope in it's ranks! That there was a woman strong enough to go out there, see this place with her very eyes, and to get screwed over by her organization like my mother with my father! Now I have no idea what she plans on doing now, and we grew distant because I felt that she was in a darkness that I couldn't reach, I thought I was going to leave and never come back, but today... Today she spoke to me again, and I started to feel that same spark like I did the first time I met her here... I am confident when I say that during that day in Paladin base... I DON'T REGRET NOT ENDING HER LIFE THAT DAY!" Emilia said as she tugged at her own hair and screamed with fury. "But what do you care. Your Elliot. The man who hates me. So go ahead... And throw your bombs you little blond swine! I'll take you with just my fists and wits!" Emilia yelled as she looked for a bomb. He wanted to duke it out, then fine... They'll fight! She then heard Jo, her heart stopping. Someone... Trusted her... And it was Jo...

Elliot quietly listened to her "..." he listened and listened, and didn't seem to back down at all. He was completely ready to end her life right there and then. But the man listened to her, and slowly, he began to move to the side. Letting out a sigh, the man replied "Fine..." before looking to Ryder "Ryder... I don't think we have anything to worry about..." he muttered to his "brother" before just looking up, his eyes closed. He looked stubborn, very stubborn, but he let Emilia go "... Go on... I won't stop you..." he spoke to Emilia, looking away from her.

Pugsy let out a sigh "Well... to be honest, the medics will probably kill me for this later. It's horrible really..." the man spoke rather energetically. This wasn't the first time something like that had happened. Pugsy kinda just gave an awkward smile to Ivy and replied "I'll worry about it later! Doctors are dumb anyways! I think pancakes and hugs will fix it... because... well uh, pancakes and hugs fix everything! Even depression!" he knew that from first hand experience, hugs and pancakes were the best things ever! And of course Pugsy and Ivy were completely oblivious to what was going on outside of Ryder's room.

Ryder seemed hesitant at first...but if Elliot was trusting this, then it was probably okay...Ryder backed away from the group, moving away from them to give them some space. He kept moving until his back suddenly hit a wall, and he startled himself a bit. Why did he feel the need to distance himself so far? Why...did...
As he thought about it, he suddenly felt a large, hollow loneliness pang through his body. He felt the need to distance himself from Emilia and Jo--they had each other to lean on, anyway...and he'd done a pretty crappy job of comforting Jo just minutes before. He knew that Elliot thought he was annoying, from the last battle...Ivy had Pugsy now...So...
Who did he have?
He knew that this was probably just his depression acting up. Depression was the kind of thing that came to bite you when you were at a low--and it made you feel even worse. He felt like a piece of shit for even thinking about himself and his own problems when Jo was in this condition, though.
Indecision flashed across his face as he stood there--but he didn't say anything. He wasn't going to interrupt Emilia and Jo.

Elliot slowly walked over to Ryder, patting him on the shoulder. He realized the guy wasn't looking too well, and despite them not really getting along, at all, Elliot still knew a sad man when he saw one. Elliot looked at Ryder and asked "Hey... what's wrong?" to him quietly "Don't take this for me caring about you... I'm just wondering." he added, because Elliot had to keep his image and persona up, the big tough scary guy act.

Ryder jumped a bit when his shoulder was patted, then he looked to Elliot in surprise. Elliot was actually asking him what was wrong...? But even so...he couldn't tell him what was wrong...not now...everyone was supposed to be worried about Jo right now, he couldn't be pity-partying all over the place, that would just be horrible...
"N-Nothing's wrong..." he shook his head to Elliot, replying in an equally as quiet voice, not wanting to interrupt Emilia and Jo. His voice steadily decreased in volume as he spoke. "It's just...been a rough few days...I'll get over it..."

Jo watched from her spot on the floor as Emilia explained herself to Elliot and Ryder, making it clear she didn`t have any intention of harming her. There were a few insults thrown in, making the blunette wince each time. Through it all, something stuck with her. 'I can't kill Josephine even if I tried! She has proven to me... That Paladin has some hope in it's ranks! That there was a woman strong enough to go out there, see this place with her very eyes, and to get screwed over by her organization like my mother with my father!' -- Jo`s eye widened. That was it? Her reason for despising Paladin? She hadn`t known. The knight who had fought and even killed her friends those years ago was just looking for revenge. She knew it now, Paladin wasn`t making an effort to stop this war, or bring the world back to it`s former glory. She didn`t need them anymore. She was going to end this war herself. She remembered her only encounter with The Valkyur once again; she had felt her eyes melting through her, even if she couldn`t see them through that visor of her`s. She could tell that they locked eyes, however. She was left in that spot, befuddled as she gripped the revolver that she had with her still today. However, in reality, it seemed as though a fight was going to erupt between Emilia and Elliot. She wouldn`t allow it. Jo forced herself up, wobbling notably from her aching muscles.

Just as she did so, Elliot and Ryder cleared the way, allowing Emilia and Jo to face each other. She swallowed the lump in her throat. She wasn`t sure if she`d be able to speak clearly; silent tears still falling down her face, despite her best efforts to dismiss them. She averted her gaze from Emilia, not wanting to look at her. She knew she messed up. She was a mistake, like Henry told her. She was afraid of the impending 'chat'; her failure to plan had already caused Bunny, whom they had lost for a whole month, to defect. Surely, Emilia was next. Silence fell over her; no sobbing noises, no attempts at speaking, she just waited for her comrade to speak up first.

Emilia said as she took her hand and entwined it with Jo's. "It's... It was just the beginning..." Emilia continued and looked down. "If you want... We can talk about it over a movie... And a turkey sandwich?" Emilia asked since she didn't want Jo to think that revenge was all the fueled her cause. Revenge was pathetic in her book.

"The medics hate you? They hate me too! They're totally dumb!!"

She said, agreeing with Pugsy's statement. She then clapped her hands excitedly

"Yeah pancakes and hugs! They're soooo much better than medicine!"

It was obvious that crazy Ivy was coming back gradually, appearing more and more as she interacted with Pugsy as well as Ryder and other people she knew before her "death". Elliot's technique was probably why! Right? Right! She hugged him again then smiled nervously and wondered once more about what was going on...and what had happened before, too. How come no one told her the whole story?!

"ALMONDS!"

She suddenly said, the thinking made her say random stuff...cause Ivy.

Pugsy nodded as if he was a great scientist understanding a new fact of his science when Ivy spoke about hugs and pancakes "I agree..." But then Ivy suddenly hugged him and smiled at him. The man suddenly turned red and jumped a bit, but something about her smile bothered him "Ivy... Is something wrong?"

Ryder looked at Elliot, knowing that he was going to have to choose his words very carefully if he didn't want to get the man angry at him again.
"I guess that I just...don't really see myself as someone who should be counted on, I guess...? Or...that you and Jo seem much more dependable than I am..." He wasn't going to say that he thought himself useless--because he knew that that much wasn't true. He knew that he had saved Ivy's life from Kraven back in the church so long ago, and he knew that he had played an important role in guarding the car while Jade had shot down the Inquisitor's blimp. And there were probably other things that he couldn't remember, too... "Maybe...just...everything has really been getting to me. I used to try to just keep up a tough-guy act, but...it's just been falling apart, more and more easily every time something happens..."

I have social disorders man... a leader with social disorders isn't a leader at all." he replied to Ryder with a thing smile. He thought Ryder was a good leader, didn't see much wrong with him other than the apparent chronic depression. But then, Ryder said he had a tough guy act, to which Elliot only replied "Heh... heheh.... HAHAHAHAHAHAH!" nearly falling to the ground for a few minutes. Then he got up, calmed down slightly, and merely said "Yeah... tough guy act isn't working for yah..."

Pugsy listened to Ivy, a visible frown growing on his face as she asked him why no one would tell her. Pugsy had the idea that Ryder would be pissed if he told her everythinge, but he had to, he was feeling guilty "No Ivy... green hair is awesome... I love your green hair..." he told her, blushing intensely. Pugsy looked away for a moment, he couldn't help but say some more "Well... I can tell you... but don't get all sad or somethin... okay?" he asked her, still blushing.

Ivy was still frowning at bit as Pugsy complimented her hair, but she couldn't help but smile the tiniest smile, clearly trying to stay frowny, however Pugsy's blush made it impossible not to smile at least a bit. He then turned back to her and offered to tell her what had happened, which made her eyes light up with hope again. She was finally gonna find out what she had missed! At least SOME of it!

"Tell me tell me tell me! I proooomise I won't get sad! Pleeeaaase?"

She said, obviously not thinking that whatever had happened was a big deal. She figured a bunch of people had fought, maybe what they were hiding was that she was kidnapped for a while or whatever, nothing to be too worried about finding out.

She had been continuously looking away, until Emilia`s encouragement to do so where her one visible eye simply flickered towards her. She hoped it wasn`t about revenge. The last friend she had that was out for revenge in No Man's Land died in front of her. Jo watched in silence as her friend entwined their fingers, gently returning the gesture after a few moments. She didn`t think revenge was pathetic; she understood very well what could fuel a desire. She remembered how passionate she once was about making sure criminals received proper punishments; ones that matched their crimes that they would atone for under her surveillance. If someone applied that to her, what would her punishment be? She began to linger in her thoughts once more, her limited sight on the ground along with Emilia`s. She looked back up, faintly smiling as she brought up turkey sandwiches and movies again. She had kept her waiting, didn`t she? Jo swallowed the lump in her throat again; she was calming down, but her stomach still twisted in knots and tears proceeded down her stained face. "I.. I`d love too. But, there`s something I... I, um..." She stopped her obvious struggle, inhaling deeply. "I have too - um... Elliot?" She suddenly beckoned the pyro, looking over at him and Ryder.

Pugsy was still recovering from his shyness after complimenting Ivy's hair, but he peaked back to her only to see her eyes light up after saying he would tell her. Once again Pugsy turned away, because that was too cute too "Well... er... if you say so..." Pugsy suddenly turned to Ivy and hugged her. He let out a sigh, then waited a few moments before explaining it to her "We... you... kinda died... then got back... with cool cybernetics stuff... except you were brainwashed... and you can nuke the world... but its okay because we fixed that. Awesome right?" he explained to Ivy before hugging her tighter. He tried to downplay as much as possible so it wouldn't seem like a big deal "Oh and building fell on the guy who gave you the nuke hands...!"

Ivy wasn't sure why Pugsy felt the need to hug her if he was just gonna tell her what happened, but she didn't mind it so she didn't comment on it. Then she heard the story and her jaw seemed to drop more every second.

"Wait wait wait...I have nuke hands?! AWESOME!"

She cried excitedly, she didn't seem to mind that she died...until the image of the blimp came again and made her shudder. After a moment, she stopped inside-panicking for long enough to hear that the man that had made her awesome had a building fall on top of him.

"But...he gave me nuke hands....I like him...."

She said, not seeming to link her death to this man, just the nuke handness.

And then Ivy seemed to have another little panic shudder "Huh!? Ivy!? Are you-" and then she went right back to being super happy and hyper "Oh okay then." she seemed to jump between sheer horror and happiness now. And then she started talking about The Inquisitor like he gave her a birthday present "Ivy... that guy was going to use you to hurt people... and cool people too. Also, he hates all life on the planet..." the guy did literally say he wanted to destroy the world "Including plants..."

Ivy frowned as she heard Pugsy telling her about what the nuke hands were actually for...hurting people? She didn't wanna hurt people...unless they wanted to hurt plants...BUT WAIT WHAT?! The Inquisitor hated plants?!

"Oh fuck him! No one can hate plants! Kill him! Oh wait...he's dead now, right?"

She asked, assuming that a building dropping on the cyborg would be bad enough...but then again, the flaming blimp hadn't worked. But she didn't know that. She was wondering about whether the Inquisitor was dead or not when the nuke hands came back to her...

"Wait...Pugsy? Did they manage...to make me hurt someone?"

She asked, worry in her voice as she looked up at Pugsy. Had the brainwash worked? Had she actually hurt someone?

Feeling pretty embarrassed by this point, Ryder was eager to get off the subject, motioning over at Jo with a hand as he told Elliot that she was calling him.

Pugsy suddenly froze when Ivy asked if she had hurt anybody, oh crap. Yeah, Pugsy wasn't going to go all out on that, so he would just give her a part of the truth! Still not a lie! Partial truths!
