The Cathedral (Ministry of Death)

Once the home of The Church of Crime, The Ministry of Death now resides within these hallowed halls. This is obviously not your average Cathedral... everything from its design to its aura is unholy. It's walls and windows are not of Christ the Savior, but of an ominous red-cloaked figure. It is dark and decayed, and now, it is home to a cult of mass-murdering Deathworshippers. The Super Criminal terrorist Father Death bases his organization here, and so are his most infamous officers. The Cathedral has one massive room, where it has stalls, confession booths, and a massive podium for a speaker. There is also a dark basement used for holding captives and probably torturing them. Lastly, one long stairway upwards leads one to a belltower.

Laina sat idly on the arm of a pew, hand resting on her flamethrower. She looked around. It sure as hell wasn't home, but it's the closest she has now. The thought saddened her. Then she remembered the woman that destroyed her home. The thought maddened her. Maybe soon there'd be some action - and she'd get to FUCKING KILL JOSEPHINE BEAUMONT. And after all, it's not like Mr. D would be too torn up about that... If anything it might set up his weird nemesis bromance to evolve, eh? Yeah.

She coughed a bit. It definitely was hotter here than Canada ever was in her memory. "Ugh," she grunted, wiping the sweat from her brow.

Crispin sat in one of the empty pews several rows behind Laina, clicking away on his veta as the digitized boss on its screen steadily lost hp. He'd beaten this game before so defeating a boss this early wasn't really a challenge for him anymore. As the image faded away in defeat, Crispin turned back to the laptop at his side. A seemingly endless stream of coding sliding across the screen. The coding froze, several numbers changing before the chain of code began endlessly sliding again. He eyed the coding, his expression somehow focused despite its overly apparent apathy. He sighed. Soon this sequence would be done soon.
Crispin turned back to the veta, clicking on the screen as his avatar began moving forward, for now ignoring the pinkettes grunt. If he spoke up, he was just likely to hear more about Canada and Josephine Beaumont again.

Egil's eyes fluttered open as he woke up from a rather unexpected nap, finding himself in his usual hidey-hole--one of the confession booths. He liked it in here because it was nice and small and enclosed...nobody staring at you...usually pretty quiet...and yet, Laina's grunt from out in the pews still managed to startle him into jumping slightly, due to his still-sleepy state. He paused a moment where he sat in the booth, listening, and not particularly hearing anything else besides the clicking of the buttons on Crispin's gaming system. He debated staying in the booth--but then he realized that anyone outside probably heard him jump when he got startled, and Egil definitely didn't want to seem weird by just staying in the booth the entire time...that would be bad. Then again, just coming out of a confession booth for no reason would probably seem weird, too....Egil's eyebrows furrowed as he thought this through--what was he supposed to do? After thinking for a moment more and panicking a bit over how long he was taking to decide on this, he hesitantly stood up, then used a hand to move aside the curtain in the booth's doorway just slightly, peeking out. This was...somewhere in the middle of coming out of the booth and staying in the booth, right? So...maybe that would be okay?

A clatter arose from that booth over there? Ooh. Laina resolved to check it out. Ignoring the boy playing video games, but toting Tim, she moved closer, the metal equipment clanking loudly.
Then she saw it was Egil. "Aw, here I was getting excited we might have a fight on our hands, eh," she chuckled. "What were you doing sleeping in confession? Apologizing for wet dreams?"

Crispin looked up from his game as he heard someone jumping. He put the device in his pocket as he was Egils face appear behind the confessional curtain. So that was where he'd been. Crispin knew Egil liked using the booths as a hiding place. He used the Bell Tower the same way.
He looked down at his laptop. The screen going black before standing up and walking over to the booth, giving Laina a dry look as he passed her. Remarks like that were the reason he hadn't asked her to ever fix up his car.
He looked back at Egil.
So this is where you were. I hope I didn't wake you up....you don't need to come out if you don't want to.

Catherine burst into the Cathedral, her clothing bloodstained and her face smeared with...more blood. Her eyes flashed with an intensity that was either desperation or extreme pleasure...probably both, because she was covered in blood...but Kraven was gone. Captured.

"I don't care WHAT you're doing right now, we're going to save Kravey, got it? GOOD."

She announced to no one in particular, not pausing as the stalked across the Cathedral to pick up and hand around a few guns to the few people that weren't carrying anything. She was sort of trying to rally everyone and couldn't help but smirk as the various Deathworshippers actually LISTENED. Having power here was GOOD. No wonder Kraven liked it so much.

"So some BITCHES stole Father Death. We gotta go in and blow some shit up till we get him back, YES~?"

Cathy was pretty sure that just blowing shit up wouldn't help...but it was all she had at the moment. She could improvise on the rest.

Laina beamed. Jo was probably behind Kraven being taken, of course- so why wouldn't Laina be excited about taking the fight to her? She flicked Tim to life and followed Cathy eagerly.

Egil shrunk back a bit behind the curtain as Laina suddenly approached with her weapon--and her question made his face burn bright crimson, and also made him duck behind the curtain completely.
"O-Of c-c-course not--!" he objected to her meekly, pausing for a moment before peeking out of the curtain again when Crispin approached. "I-It's okay...I sort of woke up on my own..." Then Cathy slammed open the door to the cathedral, making him jump again, gripping tightly onto the curtain in surprise as he did his best to deal with Laina shouting right next to him. So much noise in one place was never fun...He hesitated a moment before coming out of the confession booth all the way, shuffling out into the main room with the others and looking down at the ground. Apparently bad things were happening...he wasn't sure exactly how much he'd be able to help with the whole Kraven-being-missing issue, but at the very least if all of them tried to come up with something, maybe they'd think of something good...? Egil didn't really bother trying to think of any sort of plan suggestion--he wasn't confident enough in what he might think of. He'd just go with someone else's plan.

Crispin mutely nodded at Egil, putting a hand up to his ear as the doors to the cathedral were thrown open, followed by Laina yelling, because....quiet was just something they couldn't have for some reason. Crispin moved closer to Egil as he looked at Cathy. He actually did kind of understand the need to get Father Death back. He needed that doorway open to him and right now Kraven was his only key.
Shouldn't we have a plan for getting him out while blowing shit up? If he gets caught up in the damage ,he might not be able to escape...

Crispin had a point, regarding the plan. Laina thought for a moment before an idea came to mind - in a cartoon she would have a hovering light bulb over her head.
"What's bright, and distracting, and scary, but not as imminently dangerous as an explosion?" she asked excitedly. Without really awaiting a reply, she raised Tim towards the high ceiling and cried out giddily, "FIRE~" releasing a single puff.
"I can distract them while you guys get Mr. D out! How does that sound?"

Cathy pointed at Laina and nodded reassuringly, grinning- she liked her enthusiasm. Very much. The quiet one beside her though, Egil- she didn't like that. Walking towards the boy with the mismatched eyes, she placed her finger on his chest, her eyes burning with intensity.

"Don't you want to save Kravey~? Why are you keeping so quiet~? Do you know something?"

Her voice remained at the same level the whole time, with its oh-so-familiar sticky sweetness that managed to seem scarier than an actual shriek. She seemed pretty sure that she needed to bully Egil now, but Crispin spoke up. And Laina agreed. The pinkette couldn't help but giggle, backing away from Egil as her bubbling laughter echoed across the cathedral.

"Explosions...stopping Kravey~? You must be new~"

She chimed, though she did actually know the join dates and names of most Deathworshippers so the comment wasn't really necessary. She looked at the two, still smiling, though there was tangible disappointment as she spoke up again, barely hiding the sparkle in her eyes as she saw Tim.

"Fire..? Definitely not as fun. I mean you can still do it if you're so scared, but explosions~"

Egil visibly stiffened as Catherine approached him, his eyes widening as suddenly he got put into the hot-seat of the conversation for a moment. He tried to speak, but there was a big lump in his throat--so when she asked if he wanted to save Kraven, all he could do was reply with a nod--then a rapid shaking of his head when she asked if he knew something. He really didn't like being put on the spot like this, so he was pretty thankful when the conversation seemed to shift back over to Crispin and Laina. Still, he didn't want to seem like he wasn't contributing--especially after he'd been singled out like that. So, he swallowed the lump in his throat, then spoke, so quiet that his voice came out as a timid whisper,
"U-Um....b--b-before we g-go...l-looking for Kraven...d-d-do we even know wh-where he is...?"
Egil felt a bit upset with himself that he couldn't think of anything better to contribute, but that was really all that he had right now. He flinched as Laina started shouting again, raising his hands to his ears momentarily until the noise stopped, then he sheepishly dropped them to his sides again, quickly shoving them into his coat pockets.

Cathy shrugged, frowning ever-so-slightly at Laina's insisting. She REALLY wanted the fire, didn't she?

"Meh- I feel like it takes away from the explosions... But really more destruction is important. So I'll approve, as long as YOU bring the fire stuff. Other people are gonna need to be carrying tons and tons of EXPLOSIVES~"

The pinkette was already opening their explosives cabinet (yes, of course that was a thing) and handing TNT out, when Egil spoke up again, his timid voice barely breaking through the excited chatter of the Deathworshippers. She stopped suddenly as she processed his words.

"Uhm...OF COURSE WE KNOW WHERE- DO YOU THINK I WOULD SEND US OUT IF I DIDN'T KNOW-?"

Her voice had gone one octave higher- so maybe she DIDN'T know where Kraven was. That might be a problem. She moving her left arm, gesturing for Deathworshippers to keep grabbing explosives, but brought her right hand to her chin. She had been there when the Vigilantes attacked and captured Kraven... That should be giving her SOME information.

"Those stupid vigilantes did it, so we just like- go to where they stay. Yeah~"

..Not that she knew where that was. But still. She could pretend.

Crispin nodded mutely at Lainas back up. It looked like her fire obsession could be used for something.
Then Cathy was poking Egil. He sighed. He really hoped she didn't talk like this the whole time. He'd actually prefer yelling to that sickly sweet tone. It didn't scare him. He was just starting to find it needlessly annoying. His face stayed impassive as she spoke again, not really caring to acknowledge her disappointment.
So they were just going to be as destructive as possible and hoped that worked? Great. That didn't have a chance of backfiring at all.
Crispin pulled his veta out of his pocket. The game replaced by more coding as Crispin searched for information it seemed like they needed.
I can figure out where they are. They wouldn't keep a capture like this private.

Mocha walked through the halls, head headset in place once she heard that Kraven was captured. 'Looks like it's time to work again.' Mocha thought as she opened the doors to hear Catherine's yelling. She sighed and rubbed her head. "No they wouldn't. So let's think... Where would be a good place to keep a guy like Kraven." Mocha said out loud, "And if we are going the destructive route I would rather have that as a distraction for those guys before sneaking Kraven away. But whatever you guys choose I'll follow... What have you found out so far? Cause I have a hunch..."

Egil jumped slightly again at the sudden raise in Cathy's pitch as she spoke, drawing back slightly and bumping into the doorframe of the confessional booth. As she said that they simply had to go to where the vigilantes were, he spoke again, his voice even quieter still this time,
"D-Do...w-w-we know wh-where they are, though...?" Crispin, however, seemed to solve that problem rather quickly--Egil was pretty confident that Crispin would have the vigilantes tracked down in no time. He looked over at Mocha as the woman entered and considered her question--what had they found out, besides the fact that Kraven had gotten dragged off somehwere by vigilantes? Still, Egil didn't want to deliver as disappointing news as that. He could let somebody else explain what was going on--he didn't want to get anything wrong, after all.

Despite her claims of absolute knowledge about Kraven's whereabouts, Cathy nodded at Crispin's words. The kid was sassy, but his hacking was useful. Then Mocha came in, and again her explosive plans were being shamed.

"UGH what is it with you people and shaming destruction? As if it wasn't the best thing ever l mean seriously-

She just sort of whined for a moment, but threw her hands up and looked at the Deathworshippers, almost exasperated.

"We'll destroy things as a distraction, like a lot of you suggested, then rescue Kravey. Not that I don't totally know where we are...but do we have a location?"

She looked at Crispin and Egil, who seemed to be closer to the blonde.

Laina pouted for a second. Cathy didn't know where they were going? Oh. Oh no. This is a bummer. She then thought for a moment.
"WAIT MOM. Who besides Ry-Ry's friends would want to take Mr. D?" A crooked smile crept across Laina's mouth. "I bet - I bet Jo is behind thIS AND I'LL FUCKING KILL HER TOO, YOU GET MR. D BACK, I TAKE CARE OF THAT DISGUSTING WHORE" pausing for a second, Laina composed herself back to the deviousness. "I'll start a fire on one side of the place, there'll be an explosion on another after everyone's tending to the fire, and people bust in the bombed side, guns blazing, take them by surprise~" A cute smile now - "How about that Momma?"

Crispin stayed focused on the coding in front of him, even as people continued talking. He looked up at Cathy after a moment, briefly glancing in Egil and Mochas direction, ignoring Lainas Jo-centric yelling entirely.
It wasn't like she wouldn't be doing the same thing again needlessly soon.
They took over a town called New Tombstone. It literally has a dungeon. I doubt they'd take him anywhere else...Also that plan sounds like it could work.... Did you want to break people up into teams? Have some focus on causing a distraction while the others go after Kraven?

Mocha rolled her eyes at Laina. "Right..." Mocha mumbled to herself as the woman went off about Jo again. She rubbed her temples as she felt a slight headache coming. She didn't blame the woman for hating Jo, since she did blow up the girl's home, but she could only take so much of the 'Jo Talk'. "Thought so... No doubt it's heavily guarded." When Caspian said that Kraven was being held in New Tombstone. "If we are going to do teams I can do either."

Catherine smirked mischievously at Laina's comments, still deciding whether this girl would be an asset or the worst mistake ever.

"As much as I'd like to visit Ryder and get a look at his sweeet ass~ ahem~ He has a thing with Kravey. He wouldn't do this. Calm the fuck down."

That last part was slightly more serious, giving away that she really needed the saving Kraven thing to happen. Luckily Crispin spoke up then, giving them a location that she wasn't even pretending to have known anymore. It was good to have little nerd minions doing the work. The team suggestions seemed reasonable, as they'd make things more effective.

"Okay seriously now everyone shut up. I need anyone with arson, explosive or other massively destructive experience to go blow shit up. Anyone that's more into stealth, silent gutting and elegant torture should come with me. We'll sneak in a little bit after the explosions start, so we give the stray guards time to get out of where they should be~ As always, kill on sight and leave the trophy-taking for AFTER we get Kravey."

Her more authoritative voice reminded the Deathworshippers that this was a big deal: Father Death was missing. This wasn't okay.

"Got it~?"

Egil seemed a bit uncomfortable as Cathy looked to him and Crispin again--honestly he wasn't expecting to be able to do much to help. Laina's shouting caused him to cover his ears again, a nervous frown spreading across his features as he did so. He still wasn't sure what Laina's issue with this 'Jo' woman was, but no matter what it was, Laina sure shouted about her a lot...As Crispin glanced his way, Egil hesitantly lowered his hands from his ears--Crispin wasn't loud. Crispin was nice and quiet--actually pretty nice to spend time with. He listened as Crispin explained, and seemed to cringe a bit as it became obvious that they in fact were going in teams rather than all together. Egil was no stranger to this sort of work, of course--but he was still afraid of dragging whatever team he was placed on down. He thought about maybe trying to contribute again, but as Cathy told everyone to be quiet, he stiffened slightly, though glad that he hadn't spoken. He listened to her attentively, hearing what the two groups would be doing--and knowing that he would definitely fit better in the second group. Stealth was kind of his thing. After a moment, he stepped forward, seeming unsure of himself as he spoke quietly, making sure to speak after Laina so he wouldn't be drowned out,
"I-I...I'll go with the s-stealth group..." He knew he wasn't very confident in himself--and he didn't consider himself to be very good at much of anything--but although he felt as though he wasn't as good as his teammates, he knew that at the very least--violence was something he could do without royally fucking up.
