Paragon
Simply a God in every way!
Paragon watched as Asura ended up crawling over to Santana, hearing her last words as if she were standing next to him. His frown still in place as he heard her last words. In all honesty, she was probably the only one he would have not minded staying alive out of the Freedom Socirty. True, she was inferior in all ways compared to him, but still she was the closest to his greatness out of his "comrades."
Paragon watched as Santana fled, Asuras corpse in tow. He looked down, walking over to the fallen sword quicker than anyone aside from maybe CP-02 could see. He looked at the sword, now in his hands. His smile starting to return. Yeah, he'd be keeping this. At the very least to taunt Santana with. Paragon liked that idea the more he thought about it. True, he had been the one to Asura, but Santana and Faust had the main reason he was there, so he could definitely make them suffer for it. Yeah, that would be great.
Now Paragon was smiling again. The air glittering around him as she threw furniture and several of the other objects that had been caught up in his earlier cyclone in Santanas direction. Really because he could and anything to make Santanas life worse was completely okay with Paragon right now. Plus it was fun and Paragons type of fun was always the best.

Santana Pejoves
Fighter For a Free World
-------------------------------------
"This world is changing soon--we're not about to let just anyone do what they want with it!"
-------------------------------------
Santana didn't even attempt to suck up his emotions as he ran--but as he heard Charles' voice over the loudspeaker, it just made him run all the faster, clutching Asura as he went.
"No! I'll remember her!" Santana shouted, although he knew that Charles probably couldn't hear him. "I'll remember Asura--and I'll destroy Doublethink, some-fucking-how! Asura won't fade away--and I won't either!" Santana continued rushing down the hall, shoving his way past guards, having to squint slightly against his lack of glasses and the tears still blurring his vision. As Paragon threw furniture down the hall towards him, the furniture pieces crashed to the ground around the fleeing Cuban, splintering apart, just barely missing him. This truly was an all-out retreat. He'd meant what he said, though--he didn't want to live in a world where those fighting for justice died young, and their deaths didn't even mean a thing. Santana promised himself in that moment that he would not let himself be snuffed out--and he would remember Asura until the day he died, after all of this was over. He wasn't going to rest until he had driven anyone heading Doublethink into their graves--and he would destroy that horrible mental block itself, and the machine that had caused it. Santana decided--he would become a force for justice--real justice. And he refused to die before he saw this world salvaged. Too many had uprooted or died to let this go on...and Santana intended to end the suffering. He would stop Doublethink, and everyone behind it would die...there was no other way.
Santana continued dashing down the hallways, continuing on and on, breathless from crying, until at last, he reached the door, and shoved it open with his foot, before bursting outside. The sun shone down upon him like a beacon of hope for the future--but he couldn't feel its warmth. All he could feel was Asura's body slowly growing colder in his arms. He had originally been very light-hearted about his duty--save the world with your friends, all that--but now, all he felt was grief and anger bubbling up in his chest. This wasn't just about saving the world now--it was about avenging everyone who had fallen already while trying to save it. Everyone who had been struck down, only to be eternally forgotten--this was about rising up and striking down evil. And as Santana ran raggedly down the stairs of the tower, off to join back up with the others, Asura still in his arms...it was burned into his heart that day--justice took no prisoners. A single life in exchange for the safety and happiness of millions...sounded like a good deal. It was the only way--the only possibility. And someday--Santana knew that he would return, and avenge what everyone had lost.
