Gold walked out of the Vegas Strip out into the slums, humming a light tune to himself. Along with Beowulf, the man slipped his hands into his pockets and seemed to be walking through the sad state of affairs that Sin City's Slums presented themselves to be. Gold knew them well "Do you see this Beowulf...?" Mickey spoke in a low voice, slowly turning to look at his bodyguard with a cold look in his eyes "This is what failure looks like..." Gold had long made sure that his territories were strictly "dog-eat-dog". The only way you could succeed was by putting everyone else down and succeeding on your own. This led to an excessive gap between the rich and poor, the strong and the weak, Super Criminals and ordinary people. And that was how Mr. Gold's criminal empire flourished "Then again I guessing the harsh reality of life isn't too foreign to you... you were once in No Man's Land right? It's pretty harsh there too..." Gold remembered that his failure of a brother was sent there and got himself killed. He didn't really hold a grudge, though if he ever had the opportunity he'd gladly put down The Family for their role in his brother's death. Micket Quan walked down a few blocks in the slums before catching a familiar sight in his eyes... "Oh...?" Gold raised an eyebrow as he looked to Emilia from afar. The man pulled his hands from his pockets as he smiled "That must be Gunther's daughter... sure looks like her... huh..." he seemed to recognize Emilia, and more importantly, he knew who Emilia's father was.

Gold motioned for Beowulf to stop, turning to him and shooting a rather conniving smile "Something you need to understand about your boss Beowulf- he enjoys taking enthusiastic walks to distract himself from work. And I just found a distraction~" and just like that... he disappeared. Or rather, he literally glistened gold before seemingly teleporting straight out of Beowulf's view. And then there he was, right behind Emilia, poking her on the back of the head "Well well well... if it isn't Gunther's sweet little daughter..." he spoke with a stepford smile, letting out a light, scuzzy laugh. He would have never thought that he'd run into his sworn enemy's daughter in a place like this. Either way, this was going to be quite interesting for Mickey, he was hoping for a distraction of this caliber.

Beowulf followed Mr. Gold into the slums, looking around the area warily—although his lance was over his shoulder, he had a tight grip on it, ready to wield it at a moment’s notice. Having grown up in a slum, himself, he knew that they were no safe place to be in. As Gold spoke his first words to him upon arriving there, Beowulf looked to him—then gave a stiff nod. Although he’d grown up in slums, he’d risen away from them—even if that rise had led to eventual downfall. As the question about No Man’s Land came, Beowulf frowned, replying,
”There was a man I knew there…once. But he’s gone now…However, you would be correct. The prison was no joke. Death always felt like it was waiting right around the corner…” He fell quiet again as they walked, but as luck would have it, it seemed that the talk of No Man’s Land had been an omen—an omen of a distant memory who soon enough appeared: Emilia. Beowulf’s eyes widened slightly—this was bad. He didn’t want anybody recognizing him…where had she come from? Why was she here, of all places? …And why did Mr. Gold know her father, whoever that was?
Emilia did look their way—and as recognition seemed to flash in her eyes, Beowulf couldn’t help but let out a quiet sigh of aggravation. He really, really didn’t want to have to go talk to her—but apparently Mr. Gold was heading that way anyway, so he followed. As Mr. Gold stopped, he stopped as well—jumping just slightly when the man suddenly up and vanished. He blinked a few times—then seeing his employer appear right behind Emilia. Of course it would come to this…
He shook his head slightly, then began speed-walking over towards the two of them. Hopefully Emilia wouldn’t recognize them…after all, his hair was a bit different, and he’d taken his color contacts out…not that his still-diminutive height was helping anything…He moved over towars the two of them, standing near enough where he could safely watch Gold, removing his lance from his shoulder and driving the base of the handle down to the ground, making a sound—he at the very least knew he had to make his presence known. He wasn’t going to interrupt, but…this definitely wasn’t comfortable…

Gold didn't seem at all threatened by Emilia's lance, he had already grown so used to people holding up weapons to his face that this was nothing out of the ordinary for him "My reputation precedes me..." he spoke with his typical stepford smile. He gently placed a single finger on the tip of the lance, and attempted to lower it from his face "Gunther Melchiott is one of Paladin's Three Masters... and one of my sworn enemies..." he explained himself quite calmly "You see... he killed my son back in the day. It was quite devastating." he explained himself even further. He then pointed a single index finger towards Emilia as he said "Honestly... I've sworn vengeance against him... the sort of vengeance that transcends generations. But I had no idea his daughter would be so lovely~" so either Gold was taunting the red head or flirting with her, and he did it all with a rather quirky smile.

Beowulf paused as Emilia addressed him—did she really not recognize him…? As much as that surprised him, he was also pretty relieved by it. He remained wary, though—since she did just kind of point her weapon at him. He’d fought Emilia before, and knew that she was no pushover.
“I appreciate your weapon, as well,” he replied to her with a nod, hoping that she didn’t recognize his voice. Well, at the very least, he wasn’t speaking with all of that shouty bravado anymore…that might help…As he saw Gold move the lance with his bare hand, he felt the need to speak up, and did so, “Be careful, sir—that lance doubles as a cannon. Or—it at least—looks like it—who knows what she’s added onto it over the years—” His attempt at salvaging his mess up only succeeded in messing up more, so he kind of resigned to not speaking again. He kind of was interested in what Gold was talking about, though—vengeance was always fun. He was sort of wondering where this would go—although he had considered Emilia an ally back in the day, Beowulf knew he wouldn’t feel any remorse if he ended up needing to fight her now…

It's been quite sometime and he was adapting fairly quickly and efficiently with his new upgrades.  He would often attempt to use them whenever possible so he could discover more efficient ways they can be used.  His newly obtained flight was probably his biggest upgrade along with many other things.  Emilia had really helped him a lot in such a short amount of time, he did whatever he could to repay the favor which included helping her with her own upgrades.  This made their partnership mutually beneficial.  At least that was how he saw it.

Currently their main focus was locating a "Killer Queen."  He was scanning and searching the area as well as dividing up listening in on any dialogue within range.  Then he picked up Emilia's voice through all the ones he was currently listening to and looked to her.  "I spotted a couple motels and an inn as we were walking," he stated before following her line of sight as something seemed to catch her attention.  It was a man in yellow.  He was quick to disregard the individual when she turned her attention to a food cart instead.  He was about to ask if she needed to eat when the man in yellow sudden appeared behind Emilia causing his guard to quickly spike.  Instead of a violent action however, the man just got her attention and spoke.  Then a male quickly moved over to where they were as well.  He looked the man over as well as eyeing the weapon he thrust into the ground.  Emilia appeared to know these people however seeing her have her guard up meant that he would would maintain a high guard as well.  He kept a eye on the two strangers closely.  His eyes were glowing slightly and his body gave off a soft whir as he was ready for sudden combat.

Gold shot a look to Emilia's robotic partner whom he had not yet been introduced to when Emilia lowered his finger "Maybe it is~" the man spoke in a playful voice "I have a feeling I've been talking to your father more recently than you have... am I right~?" he asked, but by this point Emilia had gone to confronting Beowulf. That wasn't something Mickey was entirely happy with, he didn't want his bodyguard overshadowing him, he had to be the center of attention 24/7 "You and your father are enemies sure... but there's gonna be hell to pay for anyone that so much as lays a finger on you from him and you know that~" he continued to speak to her about her father, hoping to get into Emilia's head. Besides, she didn't like how confrontational she was being with HIS protector, Gold was just about to step in and play bodyguard for his own bodyguard "My my... circling like a shark...~" he cooed as he looked to Emilia with a glare hidden underneath his shades.

Beowulf seemed to calm slightly as Emilia focused back on Gold—but then suddenly, her focus was right back on him. This wasn’t the sort of attention he wanted—and he was also pretty sure that Gold was in no mood to be overshadowed by the person who was just supposed to be there as a guard. She was circling him now--like some sort of predator stalking its prey--he didn't like that. As he heard both Emilia’s words and Gold’s words, he gauged the situation, then replied to Emilia,
“I’m used to dealing with polearms. Even mechanically enhanced ones. I could tell just by looking at it,” he bluffed, pausing for a moment before adding on, “And I sincerely doubt that you know me. I’ve never seen you before in my life.” As he caught a slight whirring noise in his ear, he glanced over towards Ganta—but quickly looked back to Emilia. “I’m certain I’d remember you if I knew you. You’re probably mistaking me for someone else. Either way, my client was speaking with you…”

Gold shot a nod to Beowulf as he knew enough to divert Emilia's attention to him "You're getting a pretty bonus when you're done~" he told the bluenette with a thumb up. However, once Emilia spoke to him he just shot her a wily smile to show how fully aware he was that he was pissing her off "Well... I could very well tell you where he is but it wouldn't do you any good. You'd die before reaching him~" Mickey replied to Emilia as his smile grew "And I don't give anything away free darling, that's why I'm Mr. Gold..." he added as his smile slowly disappeared and he narrowed his eyes into a glare underneath his shades. Mickey noted that she took a step back towards Ganta, that was certainly interesting, but not surprising. He wasn't the only one around these parts with a bodyguard it seemed "There's something a little bit more important than his whereabouts you see... Mr. Melchiott got a hefty promotion when Charles Paladin passed away and the new leadership took over. You see... he's become one of Paladin's Three Masters..." The Three Masters of Paladin were Paladin's most elite officers, they weren't only dangerous as individuals but had entire armies at their command. Gunther had apparently somehow gone from an engineer for Paladin to one of their highest ranked officers "Oh and... from what I've heard these Three Masters aren't no joke... I heard that the three managed to pacify the Lone Star State all on their own. Literally three versus a million... and they still came up on top. Scary shit..." the man spoke, followed by a light fit of rather evil-sounding laughter. Sometimes you could wonder if these people realized how evil they sounded sometimes with their fits of laughter "You're wanted by Paladin just like the rest of us right? You'd be killed before you even managed to reach him..."

Beowulf gave Emilia a quiet, stiff nod when she said that perhaps they should talk when he was off duty—although, he honestly wasn’t so sure that was a good idea. He just knew that talking to anyone from No Man’s Land for long enough would only dig up bad memories—and he just knew that people would mess up his name, and just—it was all just too much hassle and grief over things he didn’t want to think about. Luckily, though, Emilia’s attention soon turned back to Gold. Beowulf’s eyes shifted over to Ganta for a moment—did Emilia have a guard now, too? Or perhaps the young glowing man was an ally on equal terms. It was hard to tell—he wasn’t speaking.
At Gold’s mention of a bonus, he got a bit distracted, raising his eyebrows and nodding in thanks—money was something that, while in No Man’s Land, Beowulf hadn’t cared about—but nowadays, it was pretty important. He had to eat, after all—and it wasn’t as if others were providing for him anymore. He was all on his own.
His eyes flicked back and forth between the three people in the area—doing what he could to keep an eye on all of them. He didn’t want to allow anything suspicious to go down while he was on the watch…

Gold shook his head when Emilia asked if he expected payment "My weakness happens to be a pretty face is all~" he flirted with the woman before turning his back on the red head and looking to Beowulf. The man seemed to be just... leaving. Without a goodbye, without a single word, he walked straight past Beowulf. Just as he passed by his bodyguard, the man then looked back over to Emilia and said "Oh and..." Mickey pointed to Emilia, his hand in a gun-like hand motion "Bang~" Mickey's hand suddenly emitted a blinding light before a beam shot out from his finger, narrowly zooming right past Emilia's head and hitting the wall behind her. The man had definitely missed on purpose it seemed "Oh man... my aim sucks~" the man spoke in a childish tone before turning his back on the red head. The wall behind Emilia was literally melted down, there was nothing left but goop that was once a solid wall "Excuse me, I just had to see if your reflexes were any good~" he spoke once more in a playful tone before starting to walk out of the room "Let's go Beowulf..."

As Gold passed by him, Beowulf looked at the man in slight confusion—before seeing him melt the wall just behind Emilia. That was definitely a threat tactic. Beowulf could only imagine that they’d be seeing Emilia again. And as much as Beowulf hated to acknowledge that he was probably going to have to run into people he had once known eventually, it still made him uneasy. He turned as Gold made it clear that it was time to go, meeting eyes with Emilia one more time before moving to follow behind the yellow-suited man—then abruptly turning back around to face Emilia and Ganta, watching them closely, but still following Gold. He wanted to double check that there’d be no funny business.
”I’ll watch your back, sir,” he spoke plainly as his eyes darted back and forth between Emilia and Ganta—he knew that Emilia was definitely a proficient fighter, but he had no idea about what Ganta’s abilities might be. He’d let Gold make his dramatic exit—but he wasn’t going to let any movement escape his vision on Emilia and Ganta’s parts. And sure enough—movement came. Emilia’s armor expanded around her, and Beowulf came to a stop, gripping his lance tightly and taking up a ready stance. “Don’t do something you’ll regret!” he called to Emilia, narrowing his eyes. He’d fought Emilia before, and if it became part of his job, he wouldn’t mind fighting her again. No doubt, her friend would join her—and he had no idea how Ganta fight, so this could easily become a losing battle if he didn’t adapt quickly—but he didn’t intend to lose, if things came to blows. Not at all.

Gold didn't even seem to look back at Emilia after his attack, he seemed pretty intent on leaving now "Don't worry your pretty little face miss... it was just a test~ You failed though~" he was definitely aiming to piss her off. There was no way around it, he was pushing her buttons and riling her up. When Beowulf told him he'd watch his back, Mickey came to an abrupt stop, before starting his exit once more "Do what you do best man..." Gold waved goodbye with his back turned, and once he was out, he came to a stop once more. When Emilia asked him about karma, he turned to look at her "Girl..." a small smile slowly grew on the man's face "Karma... Luck... they're lies. Their lies that people like me tell people like you so people like you think life isn't under your control. I'm the most powerful man in the world... I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Not because I'm filthy rich, which by the way, I am... but because I'm in control of my own destiny. Now if you excuse me... I'm going on a walk~ Let's go Beowulf." and without another word the man just left, without taking another look at the red head. He was gone, but this surely wouldn't be the last time they'd meet.

Ganta listened quietly as the two of them went on with their conversation.  He could tell the one with blue hair was also doing the same.  He was most likely a bodyguard for the one in the yellow suit.  Ganta continued to store this conversation as it appeared what was disscussed held importance with talk of Emilia's father and Paladin.  He also found the discovery of Emilia's father being a Master being of a high significance.  He looked over to her as she introduced him to them and told him to say hi, "Hello," he greeting bluntly his voice having a slightly metallic edge to it.  Then came Gold's attack.  The light did not phase him the way it did Emilia but in response he quickly switched into combat upon seeing the threat.  But a threat was all it was.  His body was glowing a bit brighter now.  Then Emilia pushed him to the side as she went ahead and yelled at them now suited up in her armor.  When the man in blue appeared ready for combat and gave Emilia a threat, he himself took a fighting stance, "I would advise the same," his eyes burning brightly with his system prepping with various attack and defensive possibilities.  But then, they just left.  Ganta straightened himself and cooled down before looking over to Emilia without saying anything.

Ganta watched Emilia as she shouted after the two individuals as the hastily fled the scene.  He wondered what that was all about but also knew it wasn't his place to ask.  Then she turned to him telling him that he shouldn't bother with them right now but also added that they would attack the next chance they get.  He would make note of this statement and to take action should the situation present itself again.  Emilia then went again and asked his opinion on things.  It took him a moment to process the question and come up with the best answer he could, "I believe that it would be best to locate the place it is you wanted to stay as you suggested before then purchase some food and supplies," he stated.  His body had returned to its normal state by now.
