Interview

((Having received directions to where their job interview to become a vigilante was located, your character finds themself in front of what appears to be a run-down shack. They know that this clearly isn't the vigilante base, considering the conditions--and is more likely a temporary place where interviews can be held prior to allowing people access to the base. As your character walks inside, they see that the door to the back room is open, and as they are led inside by a few footmen, they can see what's in the back room in question: a desk table, with one chair on each side--and surprisingly enough, the leader of the vigilantes himself appears to be seated on the opposite side of the desk, appearing to perk up slightly as your character enters.))

Santana: Ah, you're here! Please, come on in, sit down, make yourself comfortable.

Santana: (he grins, giving a short chuckle) Well, you've certainly got energy to spare! That's a good thing, though. Care to introduce yourself?

Hikari: gee I forgot to do that didn’t I my names Hikari Mitsuna aka the nightmare nightingale kinda an awesome nickname my bother has one too the morning dove we like birds and oh I hope you get to meet him too he promised me he wouldn’t blow off this interview

Hikari : I mean he’s a great guy and we both are super into taking down the bad guys (pumps fists)

Santana: I see... (he takes down a few notes on the clipboard he had rested on the desk) It's good to hear that you're both so enthusiastic. So--do you think you could tell me a bit about you and your brother's childhood? Just a little bit of background information

Hikari : well we had a normal childhood until we lost our parents but a superhero saved us sighs Bravery Valentine he’s sooo cool you know like all of those movies he was just like BAM AND POW and beat all the bad guys I wanna be just like him thats why I’m here to be a hero like him

Hikari: I just love arresting the bad guys it makes me feel like I’m doing something worth while my brother likes to execute rather then bring them in I have tried talking to him about it but I don’t know he just doesn’t respond back the way he used to he took our parents death hard I think he secretly likes Barvery too I mean who wouldn’t he’s just sooooooooo cool but Hikaru just is sad i think

Santana: Bravery Valentine, huh...? (he seems a bit surprised, flipping through a few of his papers momentarily before looking back at Hikari and listening to the rest of what she had to say) So...would you say that idolizing somebody you saw as a hero was what helped you move on?

Hikari: I guess but having Hikaru helped too .then starting in this life really made me feel fulfilled

Santana: Would you say that you're really close to your brother?

Hikari :we are twins after all

Santana: And you both threw yourself into becoming heroes... (he seems to hesitate for a moment, debating whether to say something, before smiling and speaking again) Well then, what sort of experience do you have?

Hikari: well I have been doing this for 4 years now brought in 50 people so far (smiles)

Santana: Nice progress! It's definitely a start. So, you seem far more interested in arresting people than executing them, it seems?

Hikari: yea I feel that everyone deserves a second chance and its every heroes job to make sure that even the bad guys get one too

Santana: I agree wholeheartedly--I'd honestly rather avoid killing people if at all possible. (he writes down a few more notes, before looking back up at her again) What would you say is your battle method of choice?

Hikari: well I use two scythes that have guns in them as well but I know a lot of hand to hand combat as well

Santana: Did you have somebody who taught you how to fight?

Hikari: well I trained at a dojo for 6 years when I was young and as for the scythes I am self taught

Santana: Oh! Partially self-taught, huh? I did quite a lot of self-teaching myself, actually.

Hikari: cool, I hope to train more seriously hopefully I can find someone to teach Hikaru and I more skills and discipline

Santana: Does Hikaru fight the same way you do?

Hikari: well we are similar in the fact we both have gun weapons that are also blades and we duel wield with a mix of short range sword play and longer range gun work but he fights harder then me to kill a lot of the time I fight to incapacitate

Santana: You seem to see a stark difference between yourself and your brother in how you two deal with the people you fight--would you say that there's a really big fundamental difference in the reasons that you have for fighting?

Hikari: well me and my brother are very two different people but I think deep down we fight for our parents and to avenge their loss

Santana: I see... (he pauses for a moment, then calls out to a footman in the next room) Say, could you make some tea for our guest? Thanks! (he looks back to Hikari and smiles) So, then...what would you say your definition of justice is?

Hikari: doing the right thing in the face of hardship

Santana: And what would you do if you weren't quite sure what the right thing to do was...?

Hikari: think about what Bravery would do

Santana: Huh...well, it's always nice to have somebody to look up to. (he smiles, not really having the heart to tell her that the one she was looking up to was essentially a criminal in most of the public's eyes--however, at that moment, the tea was delivered) Oh, thank you. Hikari, would you like some tea? Do you want sugar in yours?

Hikari: three sugars please

Santana: Alright-- (he poured some sugar from a small tin into one of the tea cups--the sugar actually mixed with a light sleeping drug, since he knew about the alternate personality business--he had to get a peek at both sides) That should do it. (pushing the cup over towards Hikari, he took a cup for himself with no sugar, taking a sip) Help yourself.

Hikari: (takes cup and sips falls asleep very soon after and wakes up as Hikaru)

Hikaru:what the hell where am I

Santana: Hikaru, right? You're at a job interview. For Absolute Justice, to be exact--I'm Santana Pejoves, you might have heard of me?

Hikaru: yea my sister said something about an interview but i didn’t think i would be kidnapped to do so while I was sleeping. (rubs temples)

Santana: (he grins and chuckles, shrugging) Well, I had to keep the location a little bit discreet. Sorry about that. You feeling alright?

Hikaru: I get that me and my sis aren’t in yet so you have to be careful I respect a careful man

Hikaru: so question I’m sure my sis blabbed all about me why would you want someone like me anyway I’m pretty unmotivated and I generally fail to bring in the targets alive I’m not great at this job and from what I have heard about you guys you like everything clean cut and alive so why give me an interview too?

Santana: Well, it's because, despite the fact that you say that you're unmotivated--you still seem to have people you look up to, and goals that you want to meet. Is that right?

Hikaru: yea that is true and one day I do want to find the people who murdered my parents so that keeps me going (brushes fair out of eyes, smiling a bit)

Santana: Ah, yes--I did hear a fair bit about your two pasts from your sister, however--are there any special takes on it you have that you think she wouldn't have mentioned?

Hikaru: I saw the entire thing felt the blood on my face mixing with the tears and heard the screams get muffled out almost till silence it was a dark day where I realized heroes need to be made not worshiped and waited for, one needs only themselves and no one else

Hikaru: its the day I realized reality is cruel and there is evil everywhere

Santana: And you would agree with me on the fact that your sister definitely seems to have a different viewpoint on that than yourself, yes? And yet, you both seem to fight for similar reasons--which I find interesting. How long have you been in the fight for justice, Hikaru? How much progress have you made?

Hikaru: (smiles) yea sis and I view thing different she sees the softer side of things …… I have killed 36 bad guys and brought in 30

Santana: And I'm assuming that you kill more than arrest simply because you want to ensure that they never harm anyone ever again?

Hikaru: yes

Hikaru: these are the worst of the worst and they deserve to be punished for their horrendous crimes I do always ask if they plan to repeat and if they say yes it decides their fate. I will not let what happened to my family happen to another simply because I was to lenient

Santana: (he nods, listening closely to what Hikaru has to say) Alright--one last question, then. What would you consider to be your definition of justice?

Hikaru: order that leads to peace by the eradication of evil

Santana: I see--alright, then! I think that about does it. It looks like you and your sister just landed yourselves a new job, Hikaru. (he smiles and extends his hand to shake) Pleasure doing business with you.

Hikaru: (shakes hand and smiles) with you as well

Santana: Now then--I've got some people waiting outside that will show you to our current base of operations. Do you have any questions before you go?

Hikaru: not particularly

Santana: Well, in that case, you're good to go! I've got to stay here and get a few more interviews done--but I'll be seeing you later at camp, for sure.

Interview

Your character wakes up, only to find them self sitting on a plan steel chair, surrounded by a dozen identical men. They are all wearing expensive suits, they are bald, and the strange lighting seems to prevent you from seeing their eyes. These men are all identical to each other, and they don't seem to move at all as they stare at you from all corners. They begin to question you, their monotone, alien-like voices are unnerving, but you realize something. There seems to be no way in... and no way out. You have no choice but to answer their questions now...

???: Subject is Troy Crane, commencing interview.... please introduce yourself...

Troy: whatdahell

???: You are here to be analyzed and documented. Answer our questions and you will be allowed to leave, understood?

Troy: man you dudes are wacked.. but I got ya.. yea my names Troy Crane but my peeps call me Icarus like the old timey story and all

???: What is your point of origin?

Troy: like where I come from and all or where I crash every now and then? cuz I’m from scarlet city I think but don’t take me on that you know I have been all over its like I’m missing some memories so I can’t really say for sure

???: Missing memories...? Elaborate-

Troy: well i don’t have memories before my eye was replaced with this here cyber dohicky *taps left eye* i kinda wigged out when i woke up killed some dudes in white and got out of this lab looking place but before that i got zilch shits messed up yaknow *leans back in chair getting comfortable and sighs*

???: We see... and how long ago did you get your Cybernetics...?

Troy: lemme take a stab at it and say 10 years ago all that shit went down

???: Noted... and what did you do when you left this lab you woke up in?

Troy: like i said killed a bunch of people then liked it and made it my job ya know nothing else to do so what ever seemed good shrugs

???: You became an assassin? And how did you come to join The League?

Troy: got good at the shit people took notice ya hear it was either join or die ya know

???: Odd... but very well... what do you think of that organization's top assassins? Victor. Odile. Celica. Isaac. Yumi. And of course the former assassins... Bunny, Isabella, and Poison...

Troy: the ladies are smokin but you know the sayin don’t mess with a chick who can fuck ya up. to be honest never got to know most of the people there kept to myself saw people every so often kept myself busy with jobs ya know get bored easy

???: And what do you make of recent developments within the league... that is... your boss dying at the hands of Poison...

Troy: yea.. I kinda forgot that happened and all well guess were fucked if that crazy bitch’s involved. I hear she went off the deep end not in the crazy kinky way but the crazy crazy kind of way you know
