While with Meanwhile, Bunny and Nao have been sort of hanging out together. They talked a bit, but with everything that happened, Bunny knew that something needed to be done. So, she decided to teach him. What could possibly go wrong?

Bunny yawned as she sat up, feeling rather bored with her time. Honestly, it had been rather...restless around here. Sure, it had been a few days and resting and eating in peace was nice. But now, she needed something productive with her time. Something she knew she could be doing something. Then she thought of it. "Where Nao?" she thought, and got out of her bed. The battle strippers had managed a nice cot for Nao, though he didn't like it. She sighed, wanting to figure out where he went. She wanted to continue his training. "Yeah...trainings a good idea..." she said, putting on pants, and heading for the hallway.

A bumping noise would echo behind Bunny... although there'd be nothing behind her. It would happen again... and again... alas, there was nobody to be seen. Then, -he- dropped down from the ceiling. From a vent above her to be exact "Shliiiiick~!" Jackal suddenly dropped down behind Bunny and poked her back "Boop!" he spoke, followed by a giggle. The blonde had been relatively sparse for the last few days, he seemed pretty busy, though occasionally there would be those strange moments that could only happen because of Jackal's general existence. Once he had passed by her in full arctic gear, acting like it was totally normal. And another time, he had just walked out of Bunny's closet while she was in her room, once again, he just casually left her room whistling as if nothing was strange about that. This was just another of those many moments "Psssh- seedless watermelons." he spoke before giggling some more, uttering words that only made sense to himself. Yep, this was Jackal.

Bunny jumped, spun around and nearly shot a sonic boom at him. She sighed, seeing as it was only Jackal. "Holy shit, you bastard..." she said, taking a deep breath in and out. "What the hell are you doing? If you're spying on my getting dressed again, I'm flattered but no stop bad." she said, and kept walking down the hallway, looking for Nao. She was a little worried he got all lost."Geez...this place is like a funhouse..."

He began to stand on one leg, hopping one leg at a time as he followed Bunny around down the halls "Oh you should have seen it before, everyone forced me to change the base around to make it more "practical"! I liked the old base... there was a spinning wheel! And unicorns! And a minigame where you had to stay on the little circle! Heeheeheehee! It was a blast~!" the guy didn't seem to have a very focused mind, since he had forgotten to ask her who she was looking for. Instead, he meaninglessly hopped around following the red head as he pretended to be a flamingo "There needs to be more fun around here~"

Nao had gotten himself pretty comfortable with Meanwhile.  Took a bit of time to get used to but soon he was hiding under tables and finding some high places to take naps since he wasn't too fond of his new room.  He liked it better when he was just staying with Bunny.  Bunny was nice.  At this moment however, he decided to sneak out of his room and hang around the main room.  He even said hi to the emus.  He was always fond of animals and he had never seen an emu up close.  He would sometimes wander out of his room at night and give them tiny pieces of meat and stuff from the fridge since they seemed to like it.  At the moment, he was sitting on top of a bookcase playing with his stuffed panda and muttering things to himself.  He was giggling and making the panda move by itself as of it were alive.

Jackal seemed to burst out laughing when Bunny was talking about her self esteem "I didn't know you had one of those-" he mocked her playfully, choosing to remain silent as to people thinking he was dead. That was certainly on purpose, he had left his life at No Man's Land behind on purpose. He had to make his own life, free from the people that Jack Harrison had surrounded himself with. Jack Harrison was dead, and he couldn't live in that man's shadows. Jackal freed himself from his deep thought as Bunny suddenly called out to Nao. This brought Jackal back up wide awake, as he looked to Nao and let out a giggle "That looks like fun!" the blonde would then attempt to perch on top of the bookcase with Nao, though his size would make that quite difficult for him.

Nao was still playing around when he heard Bunny shout up at him causing him to jump a little and the toy to go limp.  He looked down to see her as she scolded him for sitting up high again.  He didn't know why it was so bad to her or anything.  But then Jackal started climbing the side of the shelf to come up and join him.  He smiled and laughed happily as the man tried to make his way up to the top.  "It's fun, it's fun!" he encouraged as he reached down to try and help Jackal to come up there with him.  Bunny's earlier comment about how it was rude completely slipped him mind at this point.

Jackal shot a thumbs up to Bunny, apparently not noting her sarcasm "I am the BEST role model!" he proudly announced as he finally got on the shelf thanks to Nao "Oh- thank you-" he thanked Nao casually, as if it was a normal every day thing for him to be helped up on bookshelves. There were a feet footmen passing around here and there, and none of them seemed to be batting an eye at any of this. Yep, this was all really normal to them. Of course, this being Jackal he stayed up there for a whole five seconds before deciding it was more fun jumping from it! So Jackal then promptly jumped from the top of the bookshelf onto Bunny to bring her down to the ground "I WIN! I WIIIIN!" he proudly announced, as always Jackal had no concept of personal space.

Bunny saw as Jackal jumped on her...but then also saw it as a challenge. He jumped on her, and she stayed upright, carrying Jackal's 200 something pounds rather easily. So now, she was hold him. "I think I win this round." Bunny could be playful, she just never was. This of course because everyone in her eyes was an asshole and trying to kill her...these two...she could be herself around them."I bet, but we need to do some training. Just a little okay? Then you can play with uncle Jackal all you want. I know he's a fun guy."she said, looking at him. She sort of sounded like a mom...and she kind of liked it. Bunny just smiled and looked up again."So come down and train, then we'll get something to eat, right Nao?"

Nao pulled Jackal up the best he could until the man was perched up on the bookshelf with him.  He smiled at him before looking down at Bunny as she watched them.  Then Jackal jumped down at Bunny who then ended up catching him with little problem.  She was strong but she also had machine arms.  But then she told him out was time to train and that he could play with Jackal later.  "Mkay!" he called down before stuffing his toy in his vest and hopping of the edge and landing lightly.  "Ready," he singsonged before starting to fiddle with his toy again.

Jackal seemed pretty comfortable just being held by Bunny in the air like that "It's okay, I weight like- nothing. Jolyne says my bones are made of marshmellow-" he spoke casually before slipping himself down to the ground. He of course did not land on his feet, no, he just flopped onto the ground then eventually got up. Jackal had the eloquence of a Magikarp. The blonde walked up to a book case and took out a random book, it was about grapes.

Jackal just sort of nodded vacant-mindedly when Bunny said Nao could play with Jackal later. The Zombie Princess didn't understand such statements, Jackal was ALWAYS playing. Even though half the shit yah say is bull, some of it means something."she started to walk, moving past some of the emus and into a large spaced out room. She entered and then turned to Nao, crossing her arms over her chest. "So Nao...I've noticed yer kind of...whats a good word for it...obnoxious when yah fight. It's like yer actin? Why is that?" she asked, looking at him.

Nao laughed a bit as Jackal flopped out of Bunny's arms onto the floor.  Then he looked back to Bunny when she ushered them to follow her.  He tagged along almost skipping behind her.  He even slowed a bit to look at the emus before increasing his pace to close the distance.  They then finally made it to an emptier room for the training.  He stopped across from her as she faced him and spoke.  She didn't like how he fought.  He looked down for a moment before looking back up to meet her gaze, "A show!  Momma always told me a had to put on a show when I killed.  She said it makes people happy and I have to make people happy or bad things will happen.  It needs to be good and smile.  Don't forget to smile.  Have to enjoy it so the people will too," he answered.  He looked back down again, "If I do a bad job, it'd be bad for Momma.  She can't have that.  She'll be upset with me."

Bunny heard this and felt her chest tighten a bit. Whoever taught this poor kid to 'put on a show' when he was killing was a psychopath. She shook her head. "No more of that." she said, and knelt down, putting a hand on his head. "The key to a fight is survival...not impressing someone. I want you to remember that. When you're fighting, you need to stay alive. Cause the only one you're going to disappoint is me, and how you'll do that is by dying. Yah got that?"she smiled at the kid and stood up. "What you do in a battle is just drive your opponent away. If you kill them, fine, but you keep yourself alive by all means. That's lesson one." she stood up, and looked around the room. "That's gonna be what we focus on...fighting without too much flare. Jackal...you don't count cause...your fighting is flare."

Nao blinked staring at Bunny when she told him not to do what he did anymore.  Then she put a hand on his head and told him what he should do in a fight instead.  "Eh?" she told him that he would disappoint her if he died.  She wanted him to stay alive no matter what, not focus on killing the opponent.  It was different.  This was different.

"AGAIN!" a voice shouted from the edge of the arena.  His skin was all sticky with red.  He smiled despite his labored breaths.  He looked to the arena gate as a boy of about the same age was thrown into the ring stumbling onto the sand.  "I just picked this one up off the street, isn't he adorable?"  "Ah, it's a shame he was paired up with my little Nao.  He looks like he would have grown up to be pretty handsome.  Such a waste."  "Oh come on, cut the boy some slack.  He's got potential."  "Please, you wouldn't put a cent on that."  Nao glanced up at Mother and she gave him a nod.  He gave her a grin and giggled to show her he was having fun.  Then his wide eyes turned to the boy as he got to his feet and grabbed his weapon.  It was a handgun.  Nao just had a dagger.  They wanted to challenge him, especially since he was still tired from his last fight.  The body of the defeated one was still on the ground next to him.  The boy realized what was happening and held up the gun in his shaking hands at him.  He waved the dagger and stuck his tongue out.  The boy started shouting at him saying to put the knife down or he'd shoot.  He dropped the knife on the floor and held up his hands as if he was surrendering and went to his knees.  Then the sand beneath the boy's feet shot up and he ran to the side as the boy was distracted.  The knife was back in his hands.  The boy quickly regained composure and started shooting at him in desperate self defense but Nao kept spinning and dodging the shots.  Then when one looked like it was going to connect, his eyes glowed and it was deflected.  This made the boy panic as Nao was closing the distance quickly.  He was about to slash at the boy's face when he ducked and connected a sweeping kick knocking him to the ground.  He looked up to see the boy hovering over him with the gun pointed to his face.  He was no longer smiling.  He was about to pull the trigger when Nao's eyes glowed an extremely bright shade of purple and the boy was abruptly thrown to the edge of the area and hit the wall with an audible crack.  Nao scrambled to his feet and tossed the boy again so his body collided with the other side of the arena.  Nao started screaming as he tossed the boy's body like a ragdoll back and forth even after it was clear the boy was already dead.  It took the shouting of Mother to get him to stop.  It was silent.  He ruined the show.  His breathing was very heavy now but he looked back up at his mother and the audience and smiled.  He was having fun, this was fun.  The audience began their applause as he was shackled and led out of the arena.  He was punished later for almost ruining the show then passed out from exhaustion.

Nao looked at Bunny and smiled, "I don't wanna disappoint you!" he replied cheerfully, "I'll do what you say."

Bunny sighed and looked at Nao. There seemed to be a lot of triggers in his mind going on...and BOY DID SHE KNOW ABOUT THOSE! She knelt down to Nao, putting her hands on his shoulders. "I'm not your mom..." she looked him straight in the eye and told him that. Maybe that wasn't the best thing to say...but she needed to get this message out. "But...damn it to hell if I'm gonna let you run around without one...I may not be that Red LAdy you were talkin about...and hell, I may be the last person who...should do this...but Nao, I'm gonna be your guardian from now on. I may not BE your mom...but I'm gonna act like it..."she smiled and ruffled his hair a bit.  "And yer my kid...and that means you gotta do what I tell yah right? So...the first rule is not dyin...the second rule is no killin unless yah gotta...and thrid rule...yah not gonna disappoint me...unless you die or do something that endangers yahself...alright?"she was trying to be as gentle and sweet as she could. It was a little difficult but...she was going to try her best.

Suddenly, Bunny's hair was grabbed. It was Jackal "I like cereal-" he spoke, in an effort to enter the conversation. He seemed to be attempting Bunny's ruffling of Nao's hair... and he was failing at it badly. Eventually Jackal let go of her hair and just kind of stood there. This all seemed very... personal, which would be enough to get anyone else to leave the room and give some space. But since Jackal had no idea what social norms were... he was still there. And still just sort of staring into the void.

Nao's smile quickly disappeared when Bunny seized him by his shoulders.  His eyes went wide when she told him firmly that she was not his mom.  It felt like a pit fell into his stomach as she continued on.  He had no words; his lips pressed together.  She was going to act like his mom from now on?  Like her?  His eyes, although looking directly at her weren't really looking at her but inward like he was trying to understand what she meant by it all.  His hands gripped the bottom of his vest.  Now would be the time he would cry if he could remember how but instead his eyes just grew flat as she ruffled his hair.  "Alright," he managed to reply after her line of questions.  He couldn't understand what exactly it was he was feeling right now and in truth, it frightened him.  Why?

"Alright then son, we gotta think about what to do...hmmm..."she started to think about what he said about the Red Lady. There was obviously some triggers there. "Alright, first off, I'm only gonna treat you nice. If yah do somethin I dun like, like flare it up in a fight, this doesn't apply to you Jackal, then I'll scold yah. Other then that, I'll be nothin but nice. And...you can have as many hugs as you want. I think that's some mother stuff right?"she started to get the impression this wasn't the best idea. Oh well. "Alright Nao, let's do some practice. What do you want to do today?"

For awhile, he just sort of stood there, though looking at his eyes made it obvious he was definitely lost in some horrible thoughts. "..." Jackal eventually just sort of climbed a bunch of furniture before leaving the room with a rather solemn look on his face for a guy who was forced to smile 24/7 "No you don't-" he muttered before walking away who knows where and disappearing into the halls of Meanwhile.
