- Sometime before 2100, the world hurdles into turmoil after an event that reduced earth to a inhabitable wasteland. The oceans are dried up and the world's ecosystem is ruined. Implied to be some sort of nuclear catastrophe.

- RP is set hundreds of years in the future, technology has regressed dramatically. Firearms, cars, and most modern technology is gone. Swords, horses, and other forms of medieval technology are what is commonly used. Little to absolutely no modern technology has survived the apocalypse.

- While the use of advanced technology has died out, the use of a powerful new source of energy has become far more common. It is the principle life force inside all human beings, life energy itself. To master Ki is to master the flow of life, it is also referred to as Qi, Chi, or Chakra. There are several ways to draw out Ki, the best and most common way is to master the martial arts, while allows for one to naturally flow life energy through their body. Limited use of Ki can also be used with weapons, though they are rather limited in their use. It is possible to learn to use Ki through religious or occult training. Many priests and monks have access to Ki training. Furthermore, there are the mysterious "Ki Wizards" whom manipulate life energy through the study of it rather than any martial arts training.

- Ki mostly manifests in a few basic forms: the creation of auras, which can make its user stronger, faster, more intimidating, etc. The second most basic use of Ki is in Ki blasts, small Ki blasts can be used by almost anybody with the knowledge of Ki. The third use is "Flash Movement" which appears to be teleportation to most outsiders, in truth however, it is the ability for Ki users to temporarily travel at an incredibly speed, creating the illusion of teleportation. Lastly, there is flight, which is the most difficult basic use for Ki that anyone can master, it requires years of training to use. Besides these basic moves, there are an endless amount of special, unique techniques a Ki user may use. This may include different types of blasts of different shapes and power. The use of Ki to heal. Or even the manipulation of an element using Ki.

- While unknown to the world at large, there are supernatural beings that live within the world. They are split between three levels, Upper Kami, Lower Kami, and Yokai. Yokai are what people would call "Monsters", most are at best savage beasts who base everything off instinct. They are not necessarily evil, nor good, but a part of nature. They are the most common supernatural creatures in the world. Lower Kami are supernatural beings of great power, with minds like that of humans. They are powerful spirits, often taking a more human form (or not). They rarely visit the physical world, but if they do, they may greatly affect. When a Lower Kami gets involved in any earthly matters, history will often shift greatly in a new direction. The last kind, Upper Kami, are god-like beings who do not visit the physical world. There are countless priests and monks throughout the world that make sure of this. If an Upper Kami were to ever visit the physical world, earth was we know it would be gone. The physical and supernatural worlds are warded off from each other by those who keep order in this world.

- There are several new cultures that have sprung up since the previous fall of man, including Enkidu, Kun'Lao, and the Tochono Nomads. Modern government types are long gone and forgotten, furthermore while several countries do exist the world is still mostly an uncivilized wasteland. Most of the earth's population lives isolated, in villages simply trying to fend for themselves. Bandits are a great fear to most people, as there are bands of lawless bandit clans whom will prey upon the weak in this world. Furthermore, most countries are empires that use force to maintain their power and quality of life. Enkidu and Kun'lao both create massive armies to conquer and pillage other settlements, often making them more dangerous than the bandits. For the most part, the biggest source of good in this world are the drifters who wander the wasteland protecting the weak from those who abuse their power. There is no large organization that exists in this world that could be seen as a pure force of good in this world. However, nations like Enkidu and Kun'lao are not pure evil either, as they have countless people within their borders which need to be fed and maintained. The leadership of these nations will do anything to keep their populace satisfied and safe, it just so happens that the only real way to accomplish this through unsavory means sometimes.

The Enkidu Empire is a city-state that holds a great amount of power over its home region Shi'i. It holds great power over the other settlements in the region and maintains a powerful military. The key to its power is its military. Unlike other nations, the training and knowledge of Ki is limited to those within the nobility. Those of the lower class found attempting to learn the uses of Ki are executed. Enkidu is a massive city with about 300,000 people living within it. It is surrounded by large stone walls, which perfectly circle the whole city. They are colorful, with the colors blue and gold adorning these walls. Soldiers are constantly patrolling these walls to ensure the safety of the populace. The great design of the walls present a might image of the city from outside, but it is much less impressive on the inside. Most of the city is reduced to ruin and most of its population lives in the slums because of the government's mismanagement. In Enkidu, it is considered a sin to be born poor, it is natural for those of the lower class to be put down and outright killed while the upper class holds most of the riches that the empire has. Enkidu has a single Emperor of the empire, who may have as many wives as he wants. The current Emperor has 64 children, with each and every one of them vying for power to become the next Emperor. There is no line of succession, the most worthy child becomes the next Emperor (Or Empress). Most of the nobility within Enkidu is loyal to one particular heir, in a bid to gain more influence within the empire. The poor, meanwhile, are for the most part used as servants and laborers for the city. Enkidu's military is made up of slaves. While members of the nobility take up leadership positions within it, slaves taken from other settlements are used as the rank and file of the military. Children from other nations and settlements are enslaved and trained at a young age to become soldiers, forming a warrior caste within Enkidu that exists outside of the lower and upper class. Those within the warrior caste may form families and have children, whom will be trained within the warrior caste alongside freshly obtained slaves. It is impossible to rise up the class ladder, but if the child of two warrior caste soldiers refuses to become one as well, then that child will become part of the lower class. The warrior caste is referred to as the "Sipahi".

Utensils are not used in Enkidu, as it is considered a great gesture to devour food with one's hands. Their food is particular meat focused, particularly upon chickens. However, the royal family will mostly just eat whatever tribute is given to them from other settlements. The people of Enkidu worship the Kami Yeni, though they don't have a particular religious system or temples. Poetry is quite popular in Enkidu, mostly about food (which the royalty of Enkidu loves oh so very much). Enkidu is generally hated but feared by its neighbors, whom would gladly get rid of the empire if they had any power to do so.

Kun'lao

Inspirations: China, Rome

The Kun'lao Empire is a large nation with nearly 800,000 people living within it. As far as most know, it is the most populace country in the world. It's capital is Kuo'ru, and it too is ruled by an Emperor. However unlike Enkidu, the Emperor often has a small family and may only have one spouse. Unlike Enkidu, the Emperor of Kun'lao may only be male. In it's history there have been several royal families that rule over Kun'lao known as "dynasties". The current dynasty is the Ru Dynasty. The use and knowledge of Ki in Kun'lao is extremely common, martial arts is commonly practiced. Even the occult use of Ki is not difficult to come by. Kun'lao maintains a large military, but its strength is in its politicking and trade. It often gains large territories under its rule by merely offering to make its people part of the empire. There are several social classes within the Kun'lao Empire. There is the royal family, those within the dynasty. Second are the nobility of Kun'lao, whom are either distantly related to those within the dynasty or have family tracking back to previous dynasties. The rest of the nation is split between citizens and non-citizens. Citizens are of a higher social status, have less taxes, and more job opportunities. To become a citizen, one must join the military, which is open to anyone over the age of 12. The child of a citizen is considered an honorary citizen until they reach 13, to which they either join the military or their citizen status is revoked. To get your citizen status within the empire, you must be within the ranks of the military for 6 years, after which you are free to leave the military. Soldiers are paid well, but it is the merchants of Kun'alo who bring it true prosperity. Kun'lao's exceptional merchants are what gives it so many resources.

There is actually little difference between citizens and the nobility, as the citizens can become just as rich if not richer than the nobility. The empire views talent above all else. Citizens are given government jobs as governors, bankers, and other jobs within the government if they show proficiency in the skills needed to become one. Nobility mostly holds these spots within the capital only.

Tochono Nomads

Inspirations: Mongolians, Middle Eastern Nomads, Native Americans and Africa

The Tochono Nomands are a series of 4 tribes that live together on one land. The tribes refer to one another being a Sister or a Brother Tribe, and when moving from place to place they have tunnels underneath their villages to move to a different village. There used to be more tribes, but most have intermarried with another and combined into one. The Tochono Nomads have about 500 people left within them, though most wonder why the tribe, once a deadly world power, became small. Though the people aren't as powerful as they used to be, it doesn't mean that they are push overs. They are a prideful people, and thus many things offend them. An example would be not drinking their coffee, the strongest in any land. You don't drink it, your insulting their hospitality. Surrender is also a great insult to them. However if you are a guest of the Tribe you will be treated with high respect, let into the tribe, given the best food, and the best coffee. They also expect their guests to stay with them for at least a week before going on their way.

Spiritual wise, the tribe is very much in tuned with the celestial world. The Tochono Tribe believes that each member has an animal inside of them, the very core of their ki. It was said that before the connection was so strong that a warrior could transform into their animal form, giving them great strength. In fact it's the reason why everyone wears a mask of an animal or Yokai. The animal represents their beast, and strength. Now it is very rare, even considered a myth that the Tochono tribe could transform.
