The Meddling Tinkerer

Age:
17

Sexuality:
Bisexual

Relationship Status:
Single

Height:
Kinda tallish

Species:
Human

Place of Origin:
Manly, Australia

【 DETAIL 】

Series:
Sector 8

Personality:
Rusty is extremely dedicated to MSI, and takes it extremely seriously. She trains constantly and has the attitude of a real pro...except she sucks at everything she does. Despite the intense hours of training and her own independent practice, Rusty just can't get good at doing the magical girl thing- probably because she just isn't very magical. When it comes to official MSI business, she's serious and often grumpy about not being good at anything other than tinkering, but she can be relatively pleasant when she isn't being reminded that she sucks at everything.
Somewhat boyish, Rusty has a very 'duuude' sort of attitude with most people, acting very much like a teenage surfer boy...probably due to the fact that she grew up surrounded by guys...who were Australian surfer dudes, mostly. Also she gets super intense in fights.

Biography:
Rusty grew up watching cartoons with superheroes and reading books about teens with amazing powers. Being the daughter of a scientist, she always hoped that her father would same day accidentally electrocute her or spill chemicals on her and give her powers...because she was weird like that. All of these somewhat twisted thoughts revolved around finally becoming something more than the ordinary skater/surfer chick that she saw herself turning into as adolescence crept in.
This desire for something more only intensified when she realized there were REAL PEOPLE like that: the girls of MSI. Though she knew she didn't have any magical ability naturally, she was determined to be special...so she dedicated 4 years of her life to building a suit that would give her these powers artificially. Before even completing all of the tests, she went off to apply to MSI, which angered her parents since they had huge plans for her to become a mechanical engineer and stuff... But anyway she did the thing and, amazingly, nothing went wrong with the suit; she was actually quite impressive, which got her in.
In training she pushed herself extremely hard to become amazing, but never quite seemed to reach the level she hoped. In order to improve her performance, she started making more adjustments to her suit, making the machine more powerful each time she tinkered with it. After about two weeks, the machine's power was so great that it had become artificially intelligent. While Rusty was extremely proud of this achievement at first, she soon realized it was a problem: the machine did what IT wanted to do, and it REALLY didn't want to help Rusty. Slowly but surely her reputation grew worse, as she would 'accidentally' hurt other recruits as well as herself, and the machine constantly whispered in her mind, making her distracted and jumpy. She had created a monster, but was unable to deactivate it, despite her efforts.
While she could have chosen to just give up using  suit, she knew she couldn't go back home and be an ordinary person, after having experienced her dream in MSI- plus her parents probably wouldn't take her back anyway. So she persevered in MSI, constantly trying to bend the machine, which had named itself Rodney, to her will. Though she sometimes got Rodney to cooperate, it was never easy, and eventually her incidents in training came back to bite her in the ass...and she was sent to Sector 8.

【 BATTLE INFO 】

Fighting Style:
Rusty relies greatly on her ability to solve problems through the use of tools. She uses whatever is around her to her advantage, often setting makeshift traps in the midst of battles and always trying to make use of her suit, though she tries not to rely on Rodney too much...cause he's a dick.

Skills:

『It's alive!』 - Rusty can send extremely high voltage through someone else's body upon contact, as well as sending this electrical energy as concentrated blasts for ranged opponents. She can use it to attack or for medical purposes, and it's pretty cool...as long as she can keep it under control. Which isn't always.

『Tech whisperer』 - Rusty's very good with machines, and can fix almost anything. At times it even seems like she bends machines to her will, especially when she has Rodney on her side, helping her talk to his bros (AKA other machines).

『Everything-proof suit』 -  Not actually everything-proof, but it comes pretty close. Rusty can take a whole lot of attacks without actually suffering a lot of damage due to her armored suit, which is extremely resistant to most things.

►Bombardment◄ - Rusty jumps on her victim's shoulders and electrocutes their face before blasting her opponent with concentrated energy at a close-range, normally causing nice little explosion.

【 OPTIONAL 】

Theme Song:

Inspirations: Pan's life. At least the part about sucking at everything.

Friends:

Foes:

Creed:
"Rodney's got enough juice in him to deep-fry you three times over! Eat my high voltage, bitch!"

JOB APPLICATION

【 APPEARANCE 】

Transformed:

Non-Transformed:

【 THE BASICS 】

Name:
Pia Coutts

Alias:
Druid Warrior of Fae

Age:
15

Sexuality:
Hasn't had enough human interaction to know...

Relationship Status:
Single

Height:
Average

Species:
Changeling

Place of Origin:
Dunquin, Ireland

【 DETAIL 】

Series:
The Vanguard

Personality:
Pia seems like a person who is pointed out by others for being one that "doesn't get out much". She tends to just hang around like a sort of uncomfortable presence that makes things awkward for everyone, but once someone gets her talking, she's not unpleasant to be around. However, seeing how she hasn't really interacted with people since her parents started alienating her, Pia tends to make inappropriate comments simply because "they're true"- tact isn't something she understands. She seems to become very intense when ecological things are mentioned- she's very passionate about saving the environment and stuff. When her extreme environmentalist ideas meet with her tactlessness, it's not particularly pretty- she doesn't get how others can not care about saving the planet, and so says things without realizing how potentially hurtful they could be interpreted as.
In her magical girl form, Pia seems to become rather uncomfortable. She hasn't gotten used to the idea of MSI yet, and did not know the full extent of her powers until she joined, so her awkwardness is pretty evident when she changes.

Biography:
Pia was originally born to faerie parents, who roamed around the wilderness of Ireland for centuries. Unfortunately for her, her biological parents were too busy trying to mess with humans to actually care about raising her, so they engaged in the traditional art of 'trading'. Much like cuckoo birds, faeries seemed to really enjoy leaving their young to be raised by other parents, stealing the original human child and replacing them with their own offspring. These human-raised faeries are more known as 'changelings', and that's exactly what Pia's parents made her into.
Pia's human parents didn't notice anything strange with the child they were raising for quite a while. She had no difficulty speaking to other kids her age, and was actually quite popular among the small group of children in the remote area where she lived; there seemed to be no cause for any worry. It was only when she started coming home after long afternoons away, telling tales of voices in the woods calling to her, that they began to worry.
When she started displaying supernatural abilities, her parents attempted to suppress them, scolding her whenever she showed anything that could reveal that she wasn't human. As she grew older, her incidents became more frequent; she would often wake up to find her room overgrown with vines and weeds, or look out of her window to suddenly find trees that hadn't been there before. In a desperate attempt to hide their daughter's abnormalities, Pia's parents started homeschooling her, and she slowly lost contact with the outside world.
Just as she became more hopeless, the voices in the woods started calling to her in her dreams, not just in the woods anymore. Eventually she sneaked out one night and was greeted by a faerie who knew her parents, and explained some of what was happening to her. That was around the time that Pia's parents came in with legit torches (they were pretty superstitious and knew fire wasn't something faeries liked) and started questioning the other faerie- they wanted they REAL daughter back. Heartbroken by the fact that BOTH groups of parents had rejected her, Pia went off to live on the uninhabited Balken Islands, where she only enjoyed about a month of peace and quiet before she was found by an MSI talent scout person...who seemed to have heard the incidents that had made her infamous in Dunquin. With nowhere else to go, Pia agreed to join purely so she could get away from all the memories she had in Ireland.

【 BATTLE INFO 】

Fighting Style:
Pia's faerie magic is far from the cute Tinkerbell stuff most of her people are known for. With so much frustration and angst inside of her, her true colors come out during fighting. She battles with a feral brutality very unlike most nature spirits, using her natural control over flora as a deadly weapon as she summons thorny vine-whips and poisonous blossoms to her aid.

Skills:

『Thornification』 - Pia can envelop her whole body in thorns and spikes, her own hands turning into large spikes that she can use to impale people.

『Woodification』 - Just as her hands can turn to thorns, they can also become huge tree-trunk-mallets, ideal for smashing things and/or shielding her from other people's attacks.

『Bloomification』 - Pia can make any plant grow if there is enough soil, which she can use in combat; what she most goes for are large poisonous blossoms and thorny vines.

►Maximum Rootification◄ - Thick roots wrap around Pia's opponent's legs, pulling them down into the ground until they are neck deep in soil and roots. The roots become more intrusive, burrowing into the victim's mouth, gagging them, before Pia whacks them over the head with her trunk-mallet-arms repeatedly.

【 OPTIONAL 】

Theme Song:

Inspirations: Celtic mythology, Green Peace activists

Friends:

Foes:

Creed:
"Nature scorned unleashes its wrath!"
