↳ You're not quite sure when you started loving Jo. You do remember mentally noting that she was awfully pretty when you first met her--it was like when you had first seen Arianna: she was so pretty that she seemed nearly untouchable. You were the newbie in Vulture Team--you weren't sure if people trusted you yet, and honestly, since you'd just come out as a previous member of Conqueror Worm, you weren't so sure if they had any reason to trust you in the first place. Still, you worked hard to cement your loyalty in Vulture Team, and that was when you started getting closer to Jo. The first thing you seemed to have in common was that both of you cared for Ivy like family. It wasn't until everybody was staying in Highend that you began getting to talk to Jo more, though. You were one of the few people who was healthy enough to help lead at the time, so you assumed that that was the reason. Still--you and Jo became fast friends. The night when she, Jack, and yourself all went out to the bar and you got stupidly drunk helped to cement that in. You couldn't help but feel a bit bashful that somebody as talented and beautiful as Jo was paying attention to you--and while you tried to tell yourself that you couldn't let your affections be swayed like this, you couldn't help but feel a little crush forming. You felt horrible for that. As dead as Arianna was, you still felt like you were betraying her. You were never good at getting over things. When you managed to have another melodramatic outburst and get everyone kicked out of Highend, you felt scared--you were worried that Jo was going to reject your friendship. But, she didn't give up on you. Still, before you could actually be happy about this, both of you were thrown into battle again. You got injured, as usual--and when you finally came to again, Jack was dead, and Jo was distraught. Jack had been your friend, too, but you knew that how Jo felt about him was on an entirely different level. Everyone was exhausted--both physically and mentally--and you didn't know how to react. You'd never been good at comforting people--so you shied away a bit. You wanted to make Jo feel better, but you weren't sure how you could do that. When she went out drinking with a few of the other girls, though--you suddenly felt your tired emotions peak. That was supposed to be you and Jack going out with Jo--not Bunny, and especially not that other redhead who was planting kisses all over Jo's face. You snapped at them--you let your jealousy override your better judgment for the moment--and that only got Jo upset at you. You felt bad immediately afterwards--and began thinking that maybe you should never have joined Vulture. Maybe you would have been better off staying on Worm, and never having to deal with constantly screwing up your friendships. It seemed like it was the one thing you felt like you were good at.
And then Jo disappeared, and before you knew it, it was in your hands to lead Vulture to get her back. You felt nowhere near ready to take on the Inquisitor, but you knew that you were going to do whatever it took to see Jo safe again. You had to apologize still, after all. Jo did re-emerge, but the battle against the Inquisitor went horribly. You saw Ivy and Wynn die before your very eyes, and in that moment, you felt like a piece of driftwood lashing about in a stormy sea. But on the horizon you saw a life boat--it was Jo. You clung onto that woman like your life depended on it--and you never wanted to let go. She kept you from drowning in that sea of emotion--her arms felt safe and warm, and you were sure that if you let go of her, you would just about die from grief.
From that day forth, you knew that you wanted Jo in your life--you still weren't sure of your own feelings yourself, but whether as a friend or anything more, you knew that you needed Jo somewhere in your existence. When the Inquisitor reared his ugly head again, you saw Jo get hit so hard that you thought that she was dead--you panicked, ridiculously dramatic and emotional as always--and when you found out that she was alright, you felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from your shoulders.
Then came the night that Jo invited you to come with her to the summit at the Kingpin's Mansion in Highend. You got yourself dressed up nice and fancy for it, even got a bouquet of flowers for her--if your inner dork wasn't showing before, it sure was then. You went there with her, and got through the agonizingly long night of having to deal with both enemies and nuisances alike--you got reminded of Arianna again, and finally told Jo of that pathetic tale--and after hearing her reaction and finally being freed of the burden a bit...you felt a new sort of courage budding up in your heart. And that was why, later that night, when you finally got to dance with Jo--you kissed her. Both of you got awkward as hell after that--you felt like an idiot, through and through. Still, you continued to dedicate yourself to Jo--and as day after day passed by, you felt yourself getting more and more attached to her. You started to idolize that woman--she couldn't do any wrong, in your eyes.
Time passed--you weren't really sure when things started to get more serious--everything seems like a bit of a blur to you now. But you had managed to get yourself into some kind of relationship with Jo. You weren't sure if she was ready to call it a real relationship yet, but it was as real as anything else to you. When she got captured and brainwashed by Paladin due to the fact that she had come to help you--you felt terrible. You wanted to die, almost. But when she returned to her senses, showed you gentle affection and then led Vulture into battle with you, you felt really, truly alive.
But then she was gone. From that time forth, Jo had a habit of disappearing, then reappearing--you thought that she had been dead, but she proved you wrong, much to your relief. Now that she's separated from you, though, you feel a strain in your heart that you know won't go away until she's by your side again. You don't realize how overly enamored with that woman you are. You've never realized how much you've overlooked in your fluffy clouds of love, and frankly, you don't want to realize. You love Josephine Beaumont with more emotion than you've ever put into any other person in your life. You want to stay with her as much as you can--for your entire life, even. You want to be able to get out of this hellhole your stuck in, along with Jo, and find somewhere better. You can't even put into words how strongly you feel about this woman, and the thought of ever losing her shoves a cold hard rock of dread deep into the pit of your stomach. You're sure that you couldn't bare it if she died--you'd just get lost in that raging sea of emotion again, and there wouldn't be any lifeboat to save you. You want nothing more than to just see Jo and yourself happy, together--for as long as possible. You know that the future is uncertain, but...as long as Jo is with you, you're pretty sure that you can handle whatever it might toss your way.

↳ For as long as you can remember, Chelsea has always been a beacon of hope and light in your life. Back when you were living in Derry, the two of you were very close, and once your little brother was born, the three of you were always together, along with Wynn. And throughout all of these years, the one thing about Chelsea that impresses you the most is how dedicated she is to helping others. She ended up following you all the way to No Man's Land, just to find you--after your home had been destroyed and she had just barely escaped--instead of trying to find somewhere peaceful, she sought you out in what was probably one of the most threatening places in the world. And from the moment that Chelsea joined Vulture Team, she's worked her hardest to help everyone. You can't help but admire her for that--she's gained the love and respect of practically the entire team, and you still feel as close to her as ever. For a long time now, Chelsea has been one of the anchors that's been holding your emotionally fragile mind together. You've always tried to act like a tough guy, but you didn't know how in over your head you were going to be when you first entered No Man's Land. As time went on, you've been through trial after trial, your mental and emotional well-being taking hit after hit--and if it weren't for the people around you, you're sure that you would have fallen apart by now. Chelsea's cheerfulness and light has always helped to preserve you--and you find yourself wanting to give your all to protect her. You realize that you're probably too overprotective, but you can't help how you feel--you don't want anyone hurting a single hair on Chelsea's head. She's comforted you in your darkest hours, all while still giving her all to work for your faction. Despite her small size, you can tell that she has a heart larger than most of the people you know--she's by far one of the most precious people in your life. Although you know that Pugsy and Atlas are both from Derry, you didn't meet them until after your childhood--Chelsea is the one piece of your childhood left--as well as the single remaining survivor of your family besides yourself. She gives you tranquility and hope and happiness--especially in the times that you need it--such as when Wynn died. And, well...if Chelsea met the same fate...you're really not sure if your heart and mind could take it.

↳ Ivy is the very first person that you met in No Man's Land--and despite the oddness of your meeting, you found yourself gravitating to her and Duda as you started your stay in the prison. Having been without your little sister for so long, Ivy almost immediately took up that role in your mind--even though she's technically older than you are. You didn't want to admit that you were lonely and afraid when you first entered the prison of super criminals--you didn't even want to admit it to yourself. So, when you started sticking so close to people who were in fact in a different faction than you, it wasn't exactly clear why you did it. Soon enough, the friendship that you developed with Ivy led to you joining the faction that you call your family now. Your friendship with Ivy continued to grow over time, and eventually, you found yourself wanting to protect her--just as if she really was a second little sister for you. Whenever anything happened to her, you were completely out of sorts--and you still get like that now. More recently, though, you haven't been able to spend as much time with Ivy--while you still feel close to her, you worry that maybe she doesn't feel the same way anymore. You're hoping that you can spend more time with her in the future--because to this day, you still see her as a very good friend--and a wonderful little-big sister.

↳ You first saw her one of the days that you went to leave flowers at Wynn's grave. You still remember clearly, how she was sitting there in the graveyard, casually smoking a cigarette and reading a book. At first, the two of you never spoke to each other--your eyes met from time to time, but other than that, there was no communication. However, one day, she struck up conversation with you--and the two of you seemed to connect. Your all too-often trips to the graveyard led to further meetings, and soon enough, the two of you became friends. When you learned that she was a weapons dealer, you saw a good opportunity--you knew that Vulture needed a good dealer. So, feeling that you could trust her from the conversations that you had with her, you invited her to Vulture Team--and she accepted. She feels alone there a lot, you know--and you really hope that she manages to find a niche for herself. You can tell that she feels like an outcast at times, and you want to help her through that. Your new duties will make it more difficult for you to talk to her, but you still remember your chats back at the graveyard, and as your friend, you just want to see her happy.

↳ That day that you first met Yuri, you never thought that you'd think of him how you do today. You can hardly put into words what's been cultivated between you and this man. At first, it was just hate--sheer, unbridled hate. You wanted to see him dead and gone--and you tried to see to that the day that he captured Ivy. And that was what started it all. Although you didn't defeat Yuri that day, the battle that took place between the two of you undeniably tangled the two of you up into something that neither of you had expected.
Rivalry--you knew the word, before, but you had never known the intensity of the feelings behind it. Fighting against Yuri just felt too right. You didn't know how to quell the flames that you felt deep down inside yourself when you heard mention of that man, and you weren't quite sure how in what seemed like such a short time, he'd be able to make such a big impression on you. What had at first been simply a blaze of hate--soon began to develop, turning into a far larger blaze than before. You began to feel like it was your duty to fight him--some kind of divine rite that you needed to complete. As much as you wanted to see Yuri fall--you didn't want anyone else to defeat him. You wanted to be the one to do it--you had to be the one to do it. You never knew why you felt so strongly about this--maybe it was to prove something. You always felt like you were leagues behind Yuri. You only ever truly beat him in battle once or twice--the other times, he utterly pummeled you. You wanted to catch up to him--you wanted to be just as strong as he was--and eventually, even though you didn't realize it, you felt deep down that you wanted to win his respect through that pursuit.
You weren't sure why or how--but respect began budding up among all of that fiery hatred, somewhere along the line. After you heard Yuri's story, it became clear to you--all he had ever wanted to do was save the world, in his own way. That was all that any of you had ever wanted to do--was to save the dying world that you lived in. And when he started comparing himself to you, you didn't want to believe it--but you couldn't help but see that he was right, in some ways. You didn't want to be like Yuri, you told yourself--without even realizing that he had been seeking the strength that he possessed. Through all of the pain and heartache that everyone went through, you wanted to come out just as human as you went in--you didn't think that you'd changed, but you had. You were going down the same path that Yuri had marched boldly down. You stopped yourself short just in time--and yet even now, you're still teetering on that line. You could go any of many ways--and Yuri's path is just one of the many.
You have no idea why you feel so strongly for Yuri--when he died, you cried, for some reason or other. You didn't know why you were sad. You had stopped the man who was ready to ravage humanity--you knew that you should have been relieved, happy, overjoyed even--and yet, you also knew that you had crushed the dreams of a man who had only wanted to save the world. You had crushed his dreams right when those dreams of his had been within reach. You had finally beaten Yuri--that unbeatable obstacle that had been cemented in your mind had broken down, and you ingrained the man's last words into your memory. For some reason or other, even though Yuri was a menace to society, you couldn't help but have a confusing mix of feelings about him. You still feel anger towards him--now that he's come back to life, you feel as if your last memories of him have been sullied--you feel almost betrayed, as if it isn't the real Yuri--as if it's a fake that's simply come to ruin your remembrances of him. However, you know that that cannot be true--the Inquisitor came back to life enough times for you to realize that the man who worshipped death had overcome it, as well. You thought that you wouldn't have to deal with your confusing emotions over this man anymore--and yet, here he is, ready and waiting to fight you, just like old times.
You're unsure what you want to think about Yuri--but all that you do know is that he made an impact in your life that you'll never be able to reverse. Whether this impact was good or bad--well, that's a bit too difficult to tell.

↳ Where do you even begin with this one? Wynn had been your best friend literally since you were babies. He was only one year younger than you, and you met in the family-run day-care, that day when the two of you couldn't figure out who was going to use the crayon box, so you decided to draw together, instead. The two of you grew up together--all throughout elementary school, Wynn was bullied, but you always chased those jerks off--you weren't about to let them mess with your best friend. Wynn was like your right arm--you didn't know what you would do without him. School, baseball practice, anywhere in the town--you were almost always together. High school came around, and he introduced you to this great girl--he was always like that, doing his best to make you smile. You met half of the people you became friends with because of him. That day when raiders bashed their way through Derry's walls and held everyone in the school building hostage, Wynn was the one who was there to help you bash them right back out. You never thought that anything would come between you--until one day, something did.
Wynn liked you--he liked you a lot. A lot more than you could ever like him back. You knew that, but when you saw that hopeful glimmer in his eyes, you couldn't bring yourself to shoot him down. So--you ignored it. You avoided the topic like it was some kind of deadly plague, and never gave a clear answer--you knew that rejecting him outright would break his heart, but what you didn't know was that you not answering him was breaking that heart, too--but slower, more painstakingly slowly, piece by piece. Still, he stuck with you, and still kept that smile on his face. He wanted you to think that he was happy, and you, with your absolutely oblivious nature towards him, never realized that he was crying on the inside.
He became your second-in-command when you started your gang. He supported you in everything you did, and you couldn't help but feel like it was starting to edge on obsession. Still, you knew that Wynn was still your best friend--nothing would ever change that. You weren't even going to let Wynn's own affections get in the way of that bond of friendship. The day that you got arrested and dragged off to No Man's Land, you thought that you'd never see him again--but as always, he followed you without fail, faithfully shadowing your path, wanting nothing more than to just help you along. You always needed a hand to hold--but even though his hand was right there, outstretched towards you, you never took it. At least--not until it was too late.
Wynn lost his arm fighting for you. Bunny had to amputate it while he was still awake, and you couldn't bare him lying there, screaming and crying--you don't know if you puked. You can't remember. Either way, when he passed out, you carried him back to camp--and when he woke up, he still felt the same. He still smiled at you, willing to follow you to the ends of the earth--and you still didn't realize it. Soon enough, the Inquisitor faction attacked--and before you could do anything, he smiled at you, speaking to you softly before turning his back to you and running headlong into the sea of footmen that were pursuing you and your comrades. The last that you saw of Wynn was his head getting smashed in after he'd managed to hold off hundreds of armed men in order to let your friends escape with their lives. And that was when you realized it--that was when you realized how deeply Wynn cared about you. That was when you realized that he literally would have followed you to the ends of the earth and back, all gladly and willingly. That was when you realized that you left him wondering if he ever had a chance for love in his life--you kept him from taking up any other opportunity--and you kept him in that limbo up until the moment of his death. And all too late, you realized how ungrateful you'd been--and you immediately felt disgusted with yourself, guilt plaguing you like the weight of a thousand worlds.
You want your best friend back. You really do. But it's too late now--maybe you should have started caring a bit earlier.

↳ You had never thought that you'd ever looked true beauty in the face before you met this girl. Introduced by your best friend, she'd been living just a few houses away from you, yet you'd never worked up the courage to talk to her. She was an upperclassman, she was a beacon of cheerfulness, and she was untouchable--up until the day that she changed you, both inside and out. You started feeling like you had never felt before--it was confusing, strange--you didn't know what to think of it. The day that you left Derry for the first time was the first time that you ever held a girl's hand--it was Arianna's. You felt invincible--like you were going to be the big hero to save your family, your friends, the world--and it all started with that quiet squeeze of the hand. She always wore those gloves, but her hands were still warm--not nearly as warm, though, as that constant enthusiasm that came off of her in waves. You soaked that happiness right up--it fueled you, gave you the motivation to keep going, even when things started looking bad. And boy--did things start looking bad fast.
You didn't even know what hit you. Arianna started avoiding you--hell if you knew why. Were you doing something wrong? You thought so. You did everything you could to keep her happy, but she kept distancing herself, giving you looks as if she'd seen a ghost. You started to panic--if things were falling apart with Arianna, who was to say that things wouldn't fall apart with the entire gang? With the entirety of Derry? You wanted to talk to her, but you found yourself at a loss for words--and soon enough, one day, you couldn't find her. Maybe she'd left. You searched for her--and all you ended up finding was your best friend with a bloody gash in his chest. You panicked again--that had always been your best talent--panicking, when you didn't have anyone there to hold your hand. It was pathetic. You ran around the encampment, making sure that everyone was alright--but you couldn't find Arianna. You searched high and low, and eventually got yourself back to the broken down building you all were camped out in, heading to the room you'd been using as your bedroom--only to almost take a knife to the chest. She slammed the door on you, and as you stuttered out your shock and confusion, all that was in her eyes was panic. She didn't want to hurt you, it was clear--but she felt like she had to. You struggled to get the knife away from her, nerves fraying quickly as you tried to communicate with her--but suddenly, you both fell--and when you saw blood pooling on the floor and realized that it wasn't your own, you felt your breath stop. Even after you sat up as fast as if you were getting off of some hot coals, it took you a few minutes to realize that she was dead. And you had killed her. Emotion swept over you effortlessly like a tsunami over a defenseless beach--and you retreated from the room, finding some alleyway to hide in while you tried to get yourself to stop hyperventilating. They found Arianna's body later--and when you finally managed to compose yourself enough to get back to the rest of the gang, Wynn had to cover for you. 'She turned out to be a traitor,' he said. 'She tried to kill us,' he said. And all you could do was go along with it--nobody wanted to be a murderer, especially not you. Even though you'd killed plenty before this moment, it was only hitting you now--you had effectively taken someone's life away from them--someone that you had dearly cared about. You couldn't sleep for days, and Wynn practically had to force you to eat. What a sorry sight you were back then. Even now, whenever Arianna's name crosses your mind, you feel your blood run cold--and as much as you tell yourself that you're over the incident, you know that you never will be, deep down in your heart. To this day, you still don't have any idea what happened--but the one thing that you do know is that you'll never see that loving smile ever again.
